lets see - I am 59 so don't have much time left to choose a career! Life sort of got in the way of jobs and study so I had to do my degree via OU when I was in my thirties - early forties (yes, it did take me that long!). I have lost count of the number of part-time temp jobs I have had. mostly retail hospitality or office work. but, all have been as different as night and day! for the most part I enjoyed them. I do wish I had gone on to post grad qualification as a Psychologist, but, I am not one of the 'behaviourists' and they seem to be flavour of the month in the field at the mo.
bu99er it - I really fancy burlesque dancing! not sure my back will be up to it though!
PS, I was walking through a store in a neighbouring town when I suddenly had a vision of how the stockroom looked! thought for a mo and wondered if it was a 'psychic experience' - then remembered I had worked there for a few weeks back in the nineties!0 -
I fulfilled every wish and dream i ever had...I never got married until i was 32 due to life being such good fun.
I have one last wish to fulfill and that is a overland trip to Australia..
I have done the other ways by plane and by sea.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
haha, when I was about 9 I wanted to be either a nun, a stripper :rotfl: or a vet.
I'm still wondering what I'd like to be when I grow up - I love the job I do, advising and helping people, and have plenty of stories from that, and my life - I think I'd like to be a writer, fiction or non-fiction, living in a remote cottage with plenty of land, an orchard, & lots of rescue dogs/animals (horses/donkeys).
Best get cracking on the writingPlenty of years ahead of me

I want to be a zoo keeper, preferably head of large carnivores at a safari park or similar. I'd also like to discover a new species (I'll have a chance to do that next year, hopefully).
It took me years to decide what I really wanted (I'm 31 now), but I don't consider it time wasted. I needed a while to grow into myself, so I probably wasn't fully grown up even in my 20s. People change throughout their lives and we never stop growing up as individuals, so I think it's never too late to make changes.0 -
I'm very nearly 36.
I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I wanted to be a nurse, but I have just qualified as a social worker at the grand age of 360

I wanted to be a policewoman but my eyesight wasn't good enough. Before that I wanted to play the harp. I became a surveyor instead, didn't suit me one little bit.Norn Iron Club member 4730

I wanted to be a hairdresser basically most of my life. When I was about 15 my Dad told me not to be so silly and that I would join the Civil Service after GCSE's like my brother and sister. I annoyed him by insisting I do A-Levels then my mum told me to go and do nursing which I did actually enjoy but I'm going to have to give up for various reasons. I'm now going to change my plans and do an English degree via the OU and I'm planning to look into teaching Adult Literacy. However I really want to be a rugby WAG :rotfl:*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

In la la land I'd be a housewife/stay at home mother without any financial restrictions....
... in the real world, I should have been a midwife. I regret very much not listening to my instincts to get on the course, I listened to other people too much who didn't approve of my job choice and I ended up getting a degree elsewhere. Obviously I can't regret my choices really when everything that happened lead me to the wonderful life I lead now, but yeah I do seriously toy with the idea to go back and train but financially it would be impossible for DH to support me for 3 yearsSome times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

I was a musician for lots of years which I loved. I had to change career though for health reasons, my body just couldn't carry on. I retrained as a midwife, don't love it to be honest. I'm going to do a post grad in public health (health visitor) in January. I hope I love this! If not I have no idea what I want to do.:A
