What do you want to be when you grow up?

I have a son of 15, who has Down's Syndrome and numerous medical problems. I am his carer, and don't have paid employment.
Last week, he told me that his friend's dad is a postman, and asked me very seriously what I want to be when I grow up :rotfl:
The dad that was mentioned is two years younger than me (I know them quite well), and I'm almost 45, which means I qualify as a grown up I think
So, what do you want to be when you grow up:p?

I want to be a mommy – only then will I consider myself as a grown-up as I will have ‘proper’ responsibilities!
When I was little I wanted to be a policewoman as I thought you got your own horse!0 -
An astronaut!
I wanted to be a stable-hand when I grew up. Realisation soon dawned when I was up at 4 am every morning getting paid peanuts for getting my tootsies trod on.0 -

I still say 'when I'm a real grown up...'
My ambitions when younger were to study a subject I like - did that twice (BSc and MSc) and have children - guess I can tick that one too now as we are expecting our first next year!
Currently I do a nice little office job, stability and not soul destroying! Previously I've done 3 years working in a rehab project ('life controlling issues' so substance and alcohol use/abuse, depression, eating disorders, self harm, traumatic backgrounds [abuse/ritualistic abuse] etc) and almost 2 years as a case worker for victims of human trafficking so at some point I would quite like to go back in to that kind of support role but maybe working with offenders.
So I guess 'when I'm a [real] grown up I would like to...work with young offenders' at the minute I work in a business environment so I'm always gaining lots of knowledge alongside everything else I've learnt/picked up so I would quite like to find/develop a role working with young offenders with backgrounds similar to those I worked with in the rehab project...
Lots of ideas but no idea how to bring it all together at the moment!************************************

A writer and an actress
I don't think I will ever 'grow up' to do either of those things!

I remember in P1 our teacher asked us to draw a picture of what we wanted to be when we grew up.
I drew Wonder Woman....:eek::rotfl:

I can think of several things I'd like to be different "when I grow up", but I don't want to loose what I currently have & enjoy.0

A singer and dancer, unfortunately I am tone deaf and have no co-ordination! So I'm still deciding0

I wanted to be a scientist... and by the time I was 24 I was a Research Fellow at decent university. I'm not now though!0

I'm 46 and still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up!
On a serious note, it has blighted my life - drifting from job to job to job - no real skills or experience so most of them have been low paid. I envy so much the people I grew up with who knew what the wanted to be, did the right O levels, A levels and degree, and then went on to successful and happy careers.
At last count I have had about 25 different jobs throughout my life.:(
