I'm going to be a thundercat when I grow up

I want to feel as confident, self assured and in control of my life as all the 'grown ups' that surrounded me as I grew up appeared to be. Something tells me they were all putting on a massive act, and didn't have it anywhere near as sussed as I thought they did. Oh and I would like to be an astronaut and walk on the moon. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

I wanted to be an editor, and I've done that. I wanted to escape a nine-to-five day job, and I've done that. I want to be a writer and I'm not quite there yet, but I do write lots of novels and my self-published fiction is selling, so I'll take it.
I'd like to be happy as well but I think that might take a bit more work.

Personally I dont think I will be happy until I can afford a small holding with a few acres and lots of dogs, I'm not really a people person and this going to work lark and having to be polite to folk all day is really starting to take it toll.

Absolutely! I always wanted to move to Scotland and live in the Highlands on a remote farm, miles from anywhere, on my own. It's not practical now though, so will probably not do it. I do live on my own though (but not in Scotland) and although I haven't got "The perfect job" I do work alone which, after years of barely tolerating other people in the workplace, is a massive relief. It's not the other people that's the problem though, it's me. I'm just not sociable and can't tolerate other peoples inane chattering. I'm just a miserable old woman!
Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -

At school, i was going to become an Air Traffic Controller.
That went on for about 4 years.
I never made it to ATC college ..the 7 years put me off. And the re-taking of licences.
At 18 i got a part time job in a local hotel, waitressing at weddings & functions.
I went off to college to do Hotel Management instead.
Worked for the now-defunct THF group and adored my job.Autism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.0
