How often do people change sheets and have a fresh towel

  • There is an unwritten competition on here as to who can (appear to be) the most clean, so be prepared for all sorts of nonsense about washing towels on the hour, every hour or after each use. And changing bed linen after each sleep. There are already threads that do this subject to death.
I think your wrong - most people change their sheets once a week and towels daily - we mainly have bath robes, so not many towels, but i would put them in the wash after use - who wants a towel thats been god knows where in their face.

I'm really shocked, I sound neurotic! Bath sheets every use- I can't stand damp towels around house so they go in linen basket and into washer. Hand towels, everyday in main bathroom (grubby children!) and every 3 days or so in "visitors" toilet downstairs unless we've had a lot in which case daily too.

Weekly bedding except in summer when it can get to be daily for pillowcases, flat sheet and fitted sheet.

Also I try to wash my pillows every couple months, and scatter cushions about every six months.

If it's smelly and/or stained it gets changed.

I don't have a written rule, linen and towels just go in the wash when they're needed.

My grandma had a wash day once per week and kept the wash load down. She did what was needed as and when and I go by that principle.

  • Interesting thread this..

I change my sheets weekly and towels it kind of depends.

Ok we each have a bath sheet each (used only by that person), these tend to be washed weekly in winter and more often in summer, mainly because in winter the towel radiators dry them and in summer the can feel damp.

Hand Towels, used by all, say after washing hands when your been to the loo etc. get put in the wash every other day. And tea towels, well every time I use one they get thrown in the wash.

Interestingly though I only actually wash on two days a week, one mid week and one weekend. Usually about 5 loads a week (extra large drum size though)

  • Wow what a contrast:T

We aim to change bedding weekly but sometimes it's 10 days

Spare room as and when guests visit. Nothing like crunch clean smelling linen

Bath towels weekly (we have our own individual)

Hand towels and bath mats weekly

Dish cloth - I bleach every other day over night

Tea towels as and when - we don't use to dry aaas have dishwasher so used like oven gloves
Goal - We want to be mortgages free :j

  • Bedding every 10 days and towels weekly (we each have our own towel).
  • I wash the bed covers about every four days but we have lots of pets.

The hand towels are changed daily and bath towels every couple of days.
