  • Everyone seems to be weekly...

I tend to wash my towels every couple of weeks at least and bedding is changed every 3/4 weeks. I don't sweat that much in bed...

OH sweats quite a lot.....I don't. He destroys pillows and often in the morning instead of making the bed properly I just pull the quilt back towards the foot of the bed. Weekly is a must.....if I left it any longer the top of the cover where he has his arm out would be a stiff as a board....ugh.

I wash the bed covers about every four days but we have lots of pets.

The hand towels are changed daily and bath towels every couple of days.

Pets? Beds? Seriously? Let me tell you a secret....

    "Pets don't ahem.... 'wipe' "!

  • We all have our own bath towels (mine are purple, hubbys dark blue, DS1 light blue, DS2 green). These get washed once a week. The kids keep theirs in their bedrooms and are pretty good at remembering to use their own.

Bedding once a fortnight, unless its been really hot.

Hand towels in bathroom or kitchen - well they just get chucked in when the washer is on which is most days here! I am a bit funny about hand towels and tea towels but bedding I dont see as much of a priority.
  • Bedding weekly and towels for me and the kids about twice a week. My husband tries to use a new towel every day, but I've managed to get him down to every other day. No real reason he just 'likes clean towels'. Drives me up the wall!

We change the bed sheets weekly. We have blankets rather than duvets, these get washed about once a month.

Bath towels every 3 days or so, I find they pong if left longer, (must be us) :D
Hand towels, tea-towels and dish cloth every other day.

Some posters mentioned tooth paste on towels. I use a flannel, smaller to deal with ;) HTH

Sheets in this house is weekly for our bed, dgs stays with us a couple of nights a week so his is fortnightly, bath towels mine is every second day, as is hubby's, but when dgs is here, OH uses his as he is only 4 so it's not too dirty. Dishcloths are rinsed under the hot tap after every use and changed twice a week, dish towels about three times a week as they are used as oven glove, duster etc with having a dishwasher and the bathroom towel every second day. Oven gloves and bath mats weekly.
    Every days a School day!

Towels each time they are used which is something I insist on. The thought of dead skin along with hair ect after drying yourself makes me cringe.
Sheets weekly but if oh has sweated due to morphine its every day.

I guess its down to whats best for your family.
  • Well what a subject! I never thought that MSE users would be washing towels after each use. Have you any idea of the expense of this both to your purse or the environment?
Electricity, hot water washing powder and softeners, not to mention the tumble drier in the winter!
What ever is wrong with having a towel person, and hanging it up to dry afterwards. 5 people in my house. No way would I succumb to such madness. How on earth do you have the time?
    Kind regards
    Slowdown :)
