monday= spent £1.60 on bag of aniseed balls for my lovely husband, we got a fancy jar of them from our wedding venue, i just buy him top ups from the lovely little post office near the house i love to walk by and drool over, it is just what we want, small rural village, outbuildings and small field with ramshackle stable= bliss!
Other than that, no more spends today.
We got our multicar insurance renewal through friday, £1531 for our fiesta, and my 20year old daughters corsa. We did online quote with same company, same details, came in at £895! i rang them yesterday, they honoured the online quote, so a saving of over £600! unbelievable!! they count on customers being lazy and auto-renewing, so it really pays to do a fresh quote every year, i know i will when that much is saved..;)

checked all accounts, everything has it should be!

Did meal plan/ shopping list for next 7 days, going to try extra hard this week to keep within budget.

Left my personal spends in account, hoping to save some this week towards horse savings.

Going to try extra hard with diet this week, need to lose 10lbs for summer, ive been lazy over winter, and its starting to show! the muffin top must go! so no treats in the shopping trolley for Sammy!:rotfl:

todays little offerings to help towards our forever house-

Used £40 saved from spends to pay for mot, our little fiesta went through with no other cost, so one less thing to pay out on pay day!

the other £20 left in spends account went to a overpayment on the mortgage today, so account empty till this months pay day next week.

Ive had a good start to the week food wise, no alcohol, or chocolate today, and a NSD!

Im aiming for 5 days a week of no booze, chocolate or spends, lets see! got through day 1!!:j

:j day 2 of no chocolate, or booze. £1.39 spent on two tins of baked beans, not too bad and necessary!

I was thinking earlier, we are nearly into the 6th month of our 36 month challenge! we are so looking forward to buying our forever home, every day we make little plans of what we will do when we have it, things we want to go in it, etc etc.:D It will be the final piece of the jigsaw to our happy married life. I just feel so grateful we both have jobs that enable us to save for our goals:j All the hard work will be worth it!

ive made it to day 4 of the booze, chocolate and spends reduction!:j

My master plan is to restrict goodies and alchohol to 1/2 nights a week max, for health/weight loss as well as £ saving.

Its been a NSD, and i won the the bonus ball at work we have on wednesdays, it was a rollover too, so £80:j, which i split with hubby, we always share any windfalls, my £40 will go into my spends purse , so a extra money saving day!

As i havent been popping into the shop for treats, i have hardly spent anything from the food shop money, so ive done really well this week, must keep the momentum going into next week!:)

Lets hope this lovely sunshine keeps up for the weekend, im really looking forward to a couple of long country walks with my lovely husband and naughty spaniel after a lonnnggggggggg week at work:rotfl:

    Another NSD today..

Today i- checked bank accounts, all as it should be.

I get paid 25th, hubby 28th, so next friday will be the day i transfer savings etc, and work out our overpayments/new mortgage balance etc.

I really enjoy organising our finances, and the monthly budget. I think setting targets and having goals we so want to reach so much drives us on too!:)

    Have a lovely weekend everyone!!

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a relaxing weekend..

Every xmas my workplace gives each employee £75 of b.bond vouchers , and as i and hubby work at the same place, thats £150!

We always use them for something useful. Last night, i defrosted one of our 2 upright freezers( it was desperate), and today i have been to that freezer supermarket Kerry loves, and filled this freezer literally to busting with enough supplies to last 3/4 weeks along with contents of 2nd small freezer, and all using the £150 vouchers, £5 one left!

I went to T#SCO for tins/ any other bits for store cupboard, spent £75, andthis included my and hubbys saturday night treats of chocolate and alcohol:).

The plan is to now just get essential fruit/bread/milk each week until next pay day. The money saved will pay for our annual car insurance and road tax (paid on c/c, but clear in full every month).

Im allowing £40 a week for the shopping top up, anything left from this will be saved towards next big shop..

Lets see how long i can make the supplies last ! day 1 of the supermarket challenge!! :rotfl:
