  • Hi sammy just read through your diary. ,well done on things so far..
One thing I have started to do it buy loads of bread and milk and freeze them, that way I don't just pop to the shops and spend more on other things.
Just by doing this I have saved loads off my shopping bill..

Hi Alwaystryyourbest! love the name !

Since setting my target, im amazed at the difference you can make to the grocery spends by avoiding nipping to the local shop for bread/milk, which usually leads to buying bits and bobs that you dont need! i reckon i save at least £25/£30 a week towards overpayments by doing a list before the weekly tesco shop, getting everything for meals/pack lunches for all the family, and enough bread, milk and fruit for the full 7 days.

It takes a bit of organisation, meal planning , going through what we have etc, but the savings are worth it, and do make a dent in the mortgage balance!

Hello diary, made another overpayment today of £30, saved from shopping budget/penny watching..

Thats a total of £44.79 overpaid in December, must keep the momentum up!
