    Another cold but lovely morning.
i was out at 6am feeding the sheep and hens, releasing horsey to graze the yard and lawn/lane etc.. then back to bed with cuppa and forums till 8am- im getting too used to this homelife!
no news from work about restart date, ive a funny feeling they will use the furlough scheme as long as possible for admin staff, and ive a feeling my job could be at risk, but im hoping not..
hope for the best, plan for the worst- my mantra  :)

what a hot day! spent a couple of hours letting horse graze the long grass on the lane to our house, his field is parched of rain and he has eaten it bare, we need some rain please!!
ive sat and worked out the budget for June for food, fuel, pet food and bedding etc, determined to stick to this, also from 1st June, whatever happens with furlough, i want to start back making small overpayments each week- friday- using whatever ive saved from weekly food/fuel budget/account tidies etc..
its payday for me friday, hubby tommorow, so will do all account shuffles then.
he has had the call to return to work- 27th may- so at least his wages will be back to full ammount from then.. i think my work will furlough us until  june/july, then it will be back to work or redundancy, hoping its the 1st option- but ive also got plans going through my head if its the second..

It's definitely 'hope for the best but plan for the worst' at the moment isn't it?!

Good luck with the budget for June, it's a great idea, paying off those little amounts, at least you feel like you're making some sort of progress then

    Thanks Jessy  :)
Ive got our emergency fund to a decent ammount in p.bonds now, so until i find out whats happening with my job, for now im going to act as if ive got one to go back to. If i havent in the end, i will plan accordingly..
Think i will go for a ride before it gets too hot.. some benefits to furlough i suppose.. :)

mmm..had e.mail from work, was to all staff, was basically update on state of business, and that 'difficult decisions'  will have to be made to re-organise company.. a roundabout way of saying redundancies on the way.. also said many staff will be furloughed as long as the scheme is available..
this is difficult, ive just got to continue playing the waiting game, i cant apply for jobs etc until im certain of redundancy, but i think im going to act as if i am going to be, by saving all spare pennies  , looking into potential future projects, not spending on anything that ist needed, meal planning to a list, and keeping positive..
im using a saving account for my overpayments for the mortgage, they will stay there until firm outcome of my job role is decided, i want to keep all cashflow available in case it is needed in the near future, will be so good when i can get back to just having monthly wage , and can start getting stuck in to getting  mortgage and loan paid off, and start saving for next project..

Sorry to hear that 😦 Why can they never just come out and say it - even "redundancies possible" would be better than "difficult decisions", as not everyone will be able to read between the lines as you have done.

Good that you're focusing on paring things right back. I don't think there's any harm in speculatively applying for a few jobs though if you see something suitable come up.

    Good luck x

Sorry to hear that Sammy, but at least you're being sensible and you're way ahead of a lot of people, who probably don't have any savings at all

thanks southcoast and Jessy for your kind comments  :)
Im always looking for jobs nearer home, will be looking more carefully now.. at least with savings, and redundancy pay- i worked for this company over 11 years, so should get a couple of months pay (dont really know how its worked out TBH yet), we will be able to get through this. I dont want to make too many plans till i know whats happenning, but im going to put all overpayments away each week from small savings/account tidies, and hopefully it wont be too long before we are back on firm footing, and we will be making a big overpayment from the mortgage overpayment savings  account !
ive put in £135.32 already in last 10 days from account tidies/ grocery savings etc..
will just have to keep myself happy adding to this, though ill be itching to get it paid off the actual mortgage!  :D:)
