Today has been soggy again, feel so sorry for people who have had to leave homes due to flooding..
Next week my little cafe goes to winter hours, so i will have a few days a week to myself, its been a long summer but really good..
im hoping to have a productive winter, i dont want to waste time, and im planning a frugal money saving one too, we have the borehole work to get on with spring 2024, and its expensive!
The mortgage balance stands at £140,950, so next month end will see us in the £130;s, yipee!!
Meal planning and careful budgeting also needs careful monitoring, ive slipped a bit with working 6 days and seeing to mother in laws shopping etc on my only day off all summer..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Im now on winter hours, and boy did i pick the right week, as daily heavy rain at the moment, what a soggy end to Summer.. The nights are drawing in, i enjoy a soak in a bubble bath and snuggly early nights, got to make the best of it..
Autumn is beautiful though, all the trees changing colour, and its not cold either so outdoor time is enjoyable..
Our new 5 year fix starts February 2024, and i REALLY want to have the mortgage paid off for this fix ending. Im not sure if its doable, but ive started a new challenge for myself, pay off the mortgage in the 63 months when the five year fix ends..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

After this weeks payment, im at last on the 130,s!! £139,980 to be precise, another milestone in the mortgage free journey!!
its been a soggy, windy week, this weekend is at the moment looking rubbish too, though im hoping it changes (wishful thinking)
ive spent the last two days sorting christmas gift shopping, and besides mother in law and one niece, i think im done. Once everything arrives, i plan on getting everything wrapped, so i can relax..
ive been relaxed on the budgeting and eating front the last few weeks, so its time to rein it in me thinks! im going cash for the rest of the month, which always make me focus on spends more. Same with food, meal planning to avoid waste and over buying/buying too much treat stuff..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

We are white over with the first snow of winter!
All the pressies are bought and wrapped! a first for us, organised for once.
We are all getting together for a family meal out on the 17th, parents, nieces, our adult children, looking forward to it!
The December finances have been sorted, the mortgage balance stands at £137,912.25, not quite hit the £135,000 target, but we have paid more into the p.bond savings instead, as the water system replacement is planned for spring 2024, so this extra cash will be needed for that..
We won £250 on the p.bonds this month, im not looking forward to having to use the savings for the work, i will miss the wins! but as soon as this work is completed, savings will re-start for the next project in 2026, full heating replacement, loft insulation and a few other items, its an ongoing project!!
