I was naughty today and got some bits from Mr M, toilet roll on offer (could probably get it cheaper elsewhere; but no time to go in the shops whilst at work at the mo, and when i have the time can't get there). So swings and roundabouts. Also, got Quorn chicken for DD2 and bananas which came to a total of £7.50. Then remembered she needed chocolates for non-uniform day tomorrow, so had to go back again in-between coming home from work and school run, where i got some small drinks (as was gasping at this point with it being such a nice day),pepsi on offer and lots of YS bread muffins. So another spend of £7.61. I have just realised that i also got cashback and didn't take it from the machine :(.

I am just about to call now to see if anybody picked it up, as it was for my taxi home tomorrow after my shift. Luckily a member of staff did , so relieved.

Just off to pick DD2 up now from school disco and then will get it before store closing.

Will update sig hopefully when i get in.

Hello all! Been a bit hectic this week - doing full time study Monday - Wednesday then an evening course after work today. Have my first exam booked for mid November so need to cram in some revising before then.

Anyway - because of my course, my housemate has been cooking most of the time, and I'll make up with more cooking next week instead.

Didn't plan for lunches (last thing from my mind). Bought sandwiches from Mr T and Bo0ts.

So, spends since my last post have been:

    19th Oct - £3.58 in Mr S
    19th Oct - £1.60 in Co-0p
    21st Oct - £1.40 in Mr T
22nd Oct - £8.79 in BoOts (also bought hair gel on offer)
    23rd Oct - £2.04 in Mr S
    23rd Oct - £3.79 in BoOts

    Total = £21.20

So - over budget and still over a week till payday. You win some you lose some.

Have you tried the 'shop' on Group0n? it sometimes has offers from butchers (recent ones have been organic too) The taste of the organic free range chicken compaired to the chicken i bought at the butchers in town was soo different. Good Luck! Sounds all soo exciting!

Must agree with tasting much better. Mr T sometimes YS's organic chickens at end of day so worth looking for. (They tend to leave them in the same place and not put in YS area)

Thanks LolaLemon - I've never actually used gr*upon before but will check it out now!

Don't know if you have in your area but there is also Liv*ng Social who do similar offers in local areas - don't know if yours covered.

    Hi all

I'm declaring myself done for October - and on my second attempt I think I am getting the hang of it! I aimed for £180.00 this month and have come in at £153.51 :D:D:D this includes takeaways (except the one for my birthday treat), toiletries, cleaning and dog stuff so I am really pleased. Officially £26.49 under budget.

I have just looked back and just two months ago, in August before I started this challenge (what spurred me on!) my grocery bill for the month was a whopping £277.00, which I dropped to £220.00 for September and struggled and was over, so for me it is almost a miracle that I have effectively knocked almost £125.00 in two months. I look back and like many others I'm embarrassed that I was even spending that!

Anywho, my target for next month has to be £155.00 as we have our big water bill, which I am nervous about but effectively based on this month it is doable. I have LOVED discovering new recipes and getting back into cooking from scratch and finding bargains!

I have received various offers to different accounts for Mr T's offers over the next few weeks and am just deciding which offer is best for me - my regular account has free delivery until next Thursday because of the delivery saver, and if I spend £40.00 before Sunday I get £40.00 off a shop the week after. The other account that I have used to order but don't normally, is offering that if I do two £40.00 shops before 17th november then I will get £20.00 off a shop between 19th November and 1st December. I have just got myself into a habit of doing 1 big online delivery, then small top ups in my local BUT particularly the latter seems good as it would mean spending £80.00 of my budget, but getting £20.00 off of next month and as it's December could be helpful....

    Hmmmmmm.

Sorry for the long post, good luck to everyone else *bounces off happily and tries not to bounce into nearby lamppost*
