  • Have just caught up on everyone's posts. Haven't had much time to post this week but I did make sure that I kept all my receipts. I've just added them up and I'm now £3.55 over budget for my 3 weeks :(. But I have got a few more bits on stock that I can use over the next few weeks.
    I spent:
15/10 - £6.85 in Boots (face wipes for DS on 3 for 2 and Shapers Onion Rings for me - enough wipes to last until end of November at least), £3.00 in Poundland, £11.49 in M & S (2 gammon joints and 2 seabass fillets for £10 - unplanned but good quality & value) and £7.45 in Mr T.
    16/10 - £3.70 in Mr T.
    17/10 - NSD :)
    18/10 - NSD :)
19/10 - £8.80 in M & S (treated myself to readymade sarnie and bought some chocs for my mum as she was looking after DS for the night)
20/10 - £9.64 in Mr T (have bought ham which will last for rest of week)
So I'm very pleased with 2 NSDs. Not so pleased with going over budget but I am learning to think before I pop stuff in my trolley/basket. I'm also checking the YS sections and have got a couple of bargains (some scones down from £1 to 50p today - good for lunchboxes).
Still got 3 £12 off vouchers for Mr S plus 500 extra points if I use all the vouchers. :)
Big thanks to all those who post advice on how they manage their budgets. :T Will be using some of their ideas over the coming months as I try to get more control over our spending.
    Happy budgeting everyone!

Great result K9, pleased for you.

Isn't it just! I normally dont go for these meal deals at all, as they normally aren't value for money ; but this time it definitely was.

  • Done my ( hopefully! ) final shop of this months challenge today. Spent £28.48 in Aldi and have meal planned for the rest of the week so shouldn't need anything else, just have to stay away from the supermarket!

    Meal plan:-
Tonight: Chilli Con Carne with garlic bread
    Monday: Chicken and chorizo pasta
Tuesday: Cajun spiced chicken with potato wedges and chive dip
Wednesday: Sausage and mash with yorkshire puddings & veg
    Thursday: Chicken Jalfrezi
    Friday: Italian Meatballs
Saturday: Steak and ale pie with chips and veg

Lunches are either sandwiches or homemade soup with fruit and a yoghurt.

I have everything in we need for the above so really can't see a reason why I'd need to go shopping again. My total spends are now £203.90 so well under budget :T

Losing track this month - it's been very busy! I know I have had at least two NSDs this week, but can't remember if there were any other so will just add those to my totals. Also down to £5.35 in the food budget! Gonna be tough to stick to budget but I have cut it by £50 this month so won't feel overly bad if I go over!
    GC Sept '13: £249.05/£250, NSDs: 9/7!! :j
