I know I'm late so I don't expect to be added, but due to a ridiculously tight month, we are on £50 a week, we have managed so far! (This includes toiletries etc as and When needed for a family of 5)

    Hi All

Bit of a change to last weeks meal plan. Housemate received a letter saying he wasn't eligible to ANY student loan support for his uni course, so had to drop out. He's looking to start a course similar to mine in January instead, because he couldn't afford £27k over the duration of the uni course. Hence the fish and chips on Friday evening.

I've been reading but haven't had time to post - just wanted to say a very belated congrats to K9sandFelines to your new job! :T Also 2childmum - I thought that was a very helpful post.

Some meals I didn't have last week have been reincorporated into this one as follows:

Monday (housemate) - he wanted to go out for a meal - his budget, but I still bought my own drinks. Chickpea Burger and chips :o
Tuesday (I cooked) - Turkey breast, carrot and mangetout stir fry in a hoisin/sriracha/rice wine/soy sauce marinade served with rice
Wednesday (housemate cooked) - Rosemary and anchovy chicken in a tomato sauce served with orzo
Thursday (I cooked) - Chicken breasts with balsamic vinegar and garlic served with pasta (new recipe - was very nice!)
Friday (housemate cooked) - Piri Piri chicken served with broccoli and mash.
Saturday (I'll cook) - Harissa chicken with bulgur wheat, pine nuts and apricots.
Sunday (shared cook) - Roast Pork sunday lunch. Egg and muffins for breakfast, dessert for dinner.

Had a few spends last week - £8.73 in Mr S over the week and £40 towards my share of a Mr T delivery.

Hope everyone is well - will update signature shortly.

    Thanks :D

Just took advantage of huge selection of baking bits, hopefully it will enable me to try some new recipes , nice bread (bought seeds) and means daughter has plenty of basic ingredients for Food Tech. I took advantage also of the meal deal and stupid Mr T tried to tell me the wine wasn't part of the deal, and so that's why it hadn't been deducted, but offered me a £5 evoucher. Well i double checked after the phonecall and it IS part of the offer, or i wouldn't have added it obviously. It was only for cooking but worked out cheaper than their cheap bottles as part of the deal.

My printout and email don't tally by about 60p now but i can't be bothered with the faff of phoning back. Going to add my shocker of a total from this shop £73.60; but with the evoucher and delivery saver, i hope to be able to scrape in the minimum order of £40, less the £5.

Wont be able to do an order and be under after all, so will probably just top up through the week with what i have left. I was trying to aim for £360 this month but i think the £380 will be more realistic. Hopefully with all the stocks of baking stuff i have in, we won't need that, toiletries/cleaning stuff, or any cereal next month (as we have loads).

    Another NSD for me today.

I've roasted a chicken which will feed us today, tomorrow & monday. Veg from the freezer so I won't need to shop until at least Tuesday.

  • I've been eating pasta salad for lunches recently but getting a bit bored, so I went to the market to stock up on veggies and plan on having a day of soup making tomorrow.

A bar of creme brûl!e wonka chocolate hopped into my hand when I popped to a$da, and I got some nachos for me and the boy to Munch on tonight.

£5 spent today, which should see me through to the next challenge.

    Hi everyone,

    Budgets updated to here :)

    Welcome back Soworried :D

    Thankyou Coxy :)

I have spent £3.50 today on juice and nuts. I'm not planning on spending anything tomorrow. I'm going to stay in and do a freezer inventory. Then I need to come up with a meal plan from there.
