Hi. Would love to join the thread and hopefully you will be able to get me on the straight and narrow. I have 2 adults, 3 kids with hollow legs and 3 small dogs. My shopping bill at the moment is about £150 a week!!!!! What should be the average amount I should spend?? Payday Friday so would really like to get a plan in place for a fresh new start. No buying toiletries in 2013:cool:0

Hi Coxy, can you put me down for £170 this month - wee tiny reduction for me as I've done well the last couple of months so think we can squeeze another £5 off
When I have time, I'm going to average out what I spent on household/toiletries to see how much goes there, have a feeling savings could be made as I'm a bit lax and just get this kind of thing at the SM with the rest of my shop.
Good luck everyonePart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Afternoon all,
I'm in for October. Its a 5 week month for us from 30th sept-3rd Nov. We're trying to eat out of the freezers a bit as we have a frozen meat hamper coming in December and need to make room.
that said i'm upping the budget for next 2 months in order to stock up on long life essentials, w/up liquid, loo rolls, cat food, tins etc. for when we money is short in December/January time. I'm aware if I saved the extra money then I should have it when the time comes, but it always ends up getting dipped in to.
Coxy- can I be put down for £400 please
Huge thanks to all who help run the thread.
Good luck to all and Happy October0 -

There's no average ... all depends on how many you're feeding, dietary requirements; whether you wish to include everything ... entertainment, toiletries, pet foods!!

Just been shopping and got some yellow sticker bargains. Although the spend went against my September budget I am planning that these ys will make my October budget stretch to include some Christmas items. Well that's the plan.'If you are not in the 'arena' also getting your a55 kicked then, I'm not interested in your feedback.' Thank you.0

Hi everyone,
I am a long time lurker and admirer of these GC threads, and have decided it is time to join in! DH and I have just had an offer accepted on a house (exciting!!!) and need to try and save a bit extra to buy some furniture, so thought I'd try and cut our grocery spends to help out!
Our household is me and DH (and a greedy guinea pig staying with us at the moment!), and we are currently spending anywhere between £40-£70 a week, which is food and household cleaning products, but we buy our own toiletries from our own money.
I would like to start October off with a budget of £200 and see how we cope with that! I'll start my month on 30th September, as this is the day both of our money should hit the joint account.
Looking forward to joining you all in the challenge, and hopefully cutting the budget next month!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -
First spend to report on my second ever AF order as I was very impressed with the first, so £30.25 of Octobers budget spent already. I have decided that whilst October is a 5 week month I will stick with my budget of £200.
Didn't quite make the budget in September, and this month I have decided to allow ourselves one takeaway / meal out / trip out somewhere per week and take this from another budget rather than the grocery one. Also have to say that whilst I went slightly over budget last month, my cupboards are very well stocked which may allow me to get a bit in front to help reduce the grocery bill in December to allow a few more treats

Have decided that I need to up my grocery budget, as I have been chasing my tail to try to keep to it, failing most months, so for October I am going to go for €200]
Thanks to all who keep this thread ticking over
