Ok so it's my first month doing this challenge and so far i'm failing badly
Total spend today £88.90 (target £350 for 5 week month).
Part of that was a trip to the farm shop where I got enough meat for 14 meals and my freezer is pretty well stocked but i've still got to buy a months worth of nappies and wipes and my baby is currently refusing to eat anything but bloomin expensive jarred baby food so i'm not feeling positive (he was ill from a chest infection and when he started eating again it was all he would take and I hve to make him eat as he's lost too much weight)0 -
Had people round tonight for dinner tonight so had to pop to Mr S after work for wine and a couple of bits and pieces. Was making lasagne anyway so easily padded it out to make a couple of extra portions. A bit of an unexpected spend but I'd normally spend a minimum of £30 if I have people round but only spent £7.99 :T and £4.99 of that was on the wine. So happy with that :j

£33.50 today but, half of that was on dog food
I have 3 dogs but 2 of them are inherited from my Grandparents and they give me £40 a Month for their food plus money for vets bills. I always give the money back to them, even though they are Millionaires, because, I took the dogs out of love and to do something for them they could no longer do themselves (plus I adore dogs and would have 100's, if I could). Thing is, due to the challenge, I might be keeping that money this Month instead of putting it back into their bank accountLiving in a Caravan Since 09/08/2013 :T

I spent £1.50 buying some fruit at the market yesterday (doughnut peaches-love them!!) and another £6.74 in the Mr T local, topping up on milk, potatoes and eggs... Some Aero mouses and milkybar buttons also 'fell' into my basket (both on offer) which demonstrates why I should not be allowed in a shop on my way home after a 12 hour shift!!! Should have got some fresh food for the g pig, as what we've got that he can eat is on its way out, but totally forgot. Am on 12hr shifts again tomorrow and Friday, so may have to make another trip to the shop on the way home, whoops!!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0

Made the mistake of going shopping yesterday without a list, but did manage to do a quick mental meal plan for few days so not too bad. Spent £30.57 so far. Doesn't sound too bad, but still a lot of month left to go and have lost all my freezer supplies this week after the chest freezer decided to play silly beggars and defrost everything!! Oh well, onwards and upwards0

Had to rethink our meal plan this month as it was too expensive so spent the afternoon doing that. I'm off to mr s tomorrow as for a brief perido we're getting 20% staff discount so checked prices less discount against Aldi's and most if it will come from mr s. As it's such a good offer on the discount I've decided to do a monthly shop for all the non perishables as well as all the meat we'll need. Thankfully I had a good clear out in the freezer last week so hopefully all we'll need to get on a weekly basis will be milk, fruit, veg, salad and packed lunch stuff. Well that's the plan, just hope I can stick to it
A NSD for me today and hopefully many more to come this month too. Gonna keep track of these too. Thankfully I'm starting back work on the 4th November so if I can continue with the GC I may even manage to save some money. Having had 9 months off due to 3 operations and a month stay in hospital the coffers are looking decidedly sorry for themselves
As I'm self employed I just hope my customers will come back after such a long closure period. Fingers crossed x

Have just divided my monthly total by 31 days and put just a weeks worth of money in my purse. I have taken out all my credit cards so I cannot overspend this week - scarey   :eek:0

no spends on groceries yet, but it probably won't be long before i do. today we used up some quorn sausages from the far reaches if the chest freezer and i made some mash and home made vegetarian gravy with it. ver quick and easy. also we had homemade pizzas for tea.
2 banana cakes we made turned out far too moist inside (raw looking), so i did my usual trick....sliced it up, bunged it back in the oven on low and will be calling it banana biscotti :rotfl:Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
