Well, it's obvious, isn't it? To accompany her on her broomstick.0 -

We have (had) 2 cats - until this morning
A local witch (who looks just like the "Simpsons" Cat lady - has a habit of feeding all the local strays - and then shutting them in to her house for extended periods of time - she puts food out in bowls and leaves it for days on end ....
We know that she does this because I have seen my cats in her house
This morning - I let our two out at 6am and haven't seen one of them all morning !!
Normally - he hangs around me like a lost puppy
So - I am assuming that the witch has him
I know (hope) that she will release him soon - but this is just not on
Is there some law that prevents people from feeding "stray" cats with "god knows" what food - we try to feed ours with good quality food to prevent stomach problems (they do throw up occasionally (linked ?)
you know what really pees me off here? you let the cats out, presumably to do whatever cats do, and because they choose to visit this lady you come on here and 'vilify' her.
Cats do exactly as they please - they must like this person or they wouldn't 'visit'. and if she puts food out for hers and for 'visiting' cats - that is entirely her prerogative.
There isn't a law which prevents people feeding cats - thank the goddess! I would bet many a stray cat was grateful for the meal.
and you say yourself its 'god knows' what food - if YOUR cat eats it, the food is acceptable to him/her!0 -
Maybe the 'witch' has a nicer disposition and the cats prefer her company.:hello:0

Ah, so calling an old lady a witch makes you feel good about yourself. Says it all.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
If it wasn't for the high post count I'd assume this was a WUM.0

I would go and talk to her. She may well be simply a lonely little bod who loves cats and wants their company for a while. I get its a bit annoying for you having them locked in by her and I wouldn't like that either, why don't you say you don't mind her spending time with your cats so long as she gives them the freedom to leave when they like. That way you have more piece of mind, she gets to hang out with some kittys during the day, and the cats get fed twice.....everyone feels like a winner.
Or...another possible thing to do would be to see if she would like you to get her one for herself from a local rescue? Maybe a cat that is used to being a house cat for her?Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
