  • Bad weather has scuppered my plans today too. We have the mother of all rains today and expecting even worse later this evening, so no way was ever going to go walking / running in that. :(

hi. another newbie here. im looking for ways to generally feel better about myself. i'm a mum to two boys aged 4yrs and 11months. most of my time is taken up running around after them so i kind of neglect myself. i have self esteem issues anyway :o

looking forward to joining you all :)

  • I'd love to join in too! :) I'm getting closer to my weight loss goal and I'm looking to show off a more confident image, even if I think I look pants. At work I want to look professional, and I'm also ready to get into the dating world... although don't ask me how, I've never dated before and the whole thing seems scary! :o I don't feel so shy any more and I want to meet more people now. Hopefully this works!
  • Good morning everyone (oops afternoon).

Welcome to our lovely newbies. And a special hello to Smithers. I think you are the first male to post (so well done on taking the plunge). I wonder how many gentlemen lurk and dare not post.

Now we are a feisty bunch and obviously take our "femaleness" very seriously but we ladies don't bite. Honest.

Are you enjoying this glorious weather - unfortunately I'm stuck indoors packing up all my (some!!!) belongings ready for the big move tomorrow. Nearly there. My back is killing me , my hands are wrecked and I'm thoroughly cheesed off with it all. Never mind it will be worth it....

I'm just having a little break whilst I catch up with you all and then I might have lunch "Al Fresco" and at least catch a bit of that glorious sun. And then it will be back to work......

I spent most of yesterday blitzing the bungalow, so at least that is nice and clean and ready to move into. I also sat and watched Downton with my OH. I agree about the costumes - wonderful, especially the evening wear. Makes me want to get the sewing machine out, not that my skills are that good - unfortunately.

For the moment I have just bundled all my clothes into bin liners for the move because I just haven't had time for a proper sort out. However, as I put them away again I will have a mega sort out. (Yes I know it would have been better to have a chucking out session first but I just couldn't face it). I am definitely going to treat myself to some more basics, especially jeans and trousers - I ruined a pair yesterday with bleach. My underwear is a disgrace - good job I don't have a lover - he would be seriously underwhelmed by my greying bras and tatty knickers!!!!

Ah well, time for lunch and back to those blasted boxes.

Will probably be awol for a few days - so keeeeeep fabbing.
  • thank you for the new thread bitsy and hello to all the newbies! x

this week has just been one of those weeks so far! we are having a bake off at work tomorrow so ive made soda bread to take in, i figured i wont win so there no point busting a gut making a fancy cake and this way, ill have something to eat for my lunch!

im going to have try and look a bit more closely at my eating and exercise over the next few months, i seem to just be hovering around the same weight and not loosing anymore. i am back in a size 10 suit for work though :) (although by "back in" i do mean "buttons do up with difficulty but do up nonetheless")!

i need to keep up the fabbing too, forcing myself to use body lotion and paint my nails atm, the bright colours always cheer me up a bit!
  • Hello :j

I'd like to rejoin too. I have a list of things I need to do but I must start small. So I'll concentrate on 3 areas.

I think one of the most annoying things is... How my eyebrows look very (very) old lady. Wiry! Bushy! Grey!:p

Next is my nighttime routine. I rarely brush my teeth at night nor put on any creams. It's pure laziness. :(

Finally. Exercise. I do daily walks but they are nowhere near long enough.

So that's my 3 for this run up to the winter solstice. And my plan of action is:
    1. Book a facial and eyebrow tidy. I can't sort my eyebrows myself they're out of control.
    2. A nighttime routine
    3. Do a longer walk, aiming to walk a bit further each day.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks

    morning all

decided to take a longer walk home from the school run. normally only takes 5mins back but took 20min walk instead. might leave a bit earlier and walk that way back to the school. ds has been riding his scooter so has been more of a brisk walk than the usual stroll.

trying to cut down drinking coke :o i manage a couple of days at a time but then go back to craving it and going overboard :o anyone got any tips there? trouble is i dont like coffee and not a massive fan of tea. not keen on water or squash :undecided

i'm not really any good at doing stuff for me and dont really know where to start :o any ideas would be helpful if anyone has any :)

  • Gearing myself up this evening for fab Friday; I have painted my nails and done the usual face routine, slapped on some megabuck (free sample) of Estee Lauder night repair serum and just about to go and see if I can pull together something different to wear tomorrow.

Also going to write a meal plan and do a shopping list so that I have no excuses for having rubbishy meals in the coming week.

Lou, can you cut down gradually rather than stopping altogether, and replace it with something else? I don't like plain water, so I have either Morrisons apple & elderflower squash or Asda peach & white grape (sweeter), they just flavour it enough for me. I also drink grape juice rather than orange, as I prefer the taste :p
  • Good afternoon ladies,

I wanted to share something with you! Last night after work one of my colleagues dragged me to Debenhams to try out some of the bareMinerals lipglosses. While she tried on some pinks I thought I'd try, for a dare, the brightest red they had. Considering I don't ever wear lip colour I thought it looked great and I fell in love with it, but not the £15 price tag! So we went to Boots, had some fun helping me find a red lipstick and I settled on a Maybelline one, neon red. For MSE-ness we bought something each and made use of the buy one get one half price (and I split out the saving between us). I've greatly underestimated the power of a red lipstick and I might give this experimenting thing a go. :D
