    What are you studying?

We should not joke about alcohol and the impact of misuse on a family or an individual and the difficulties a person faces when they attempt to address this issue.

    :)

It's part of an ou degree in natural sciences. Thanks for reminding me, I need to ring them tomorrow :)

Not being funny, but as someone who has lived with an alcoholic, I'd have though you'd recognise an excuse when you heard one.

Alcohol allergies are more likely to cause physical symptoms like a rash or anaphylaxis than drunken behaviour.

It sounds as though your sisters problem is taking in alcohol quicker than the body can break it down

The thing is she drank champagne, white wine and red wine and apparently her glass was never empty. We knew it might happen and tried to tell her to take it easy but to no avail. Shame is she missed a lot of all 3 weddings cause of it. She thinks as sis and I are both married to recovering alcoholics we are judging her but we are just trying to help her. But maybe we should realise that from our own experiences alcoholics only give up when they are ready.

Talking about the allergy thing after son's wedding my sis went to her room at 7.30a.m. to check on her and have her some Nurofen for her headache. When dd and i met her at 9.30 to take her to Roman Road market ( fab market)her eyes were all red as she was having an allergic reaction. She is allergic to Ibuprofen and Aspirin and has been hospitalized a few times in the last few years with Anaphalactic shock. So we took her to a pharmacy who gave her 2 antihistamines and told us to get some breakfast into her. We went to a cute Italian cafe and she had 2 lots of toast, fresh juice and a large t. She was ok in about an hour. Younger sis did not think to tell her Nurofen has Ibuprofen in it!!
And as the wife of an alcoholic I know an excuse when i hear one.

I believe that statistic applies mainly to student students ;)

As a full time employee with a responsible job who studies on the side that *probably* doesn't apply to me :p
