To continue with the drinking theme my younger sis and I were talking to older sis today about it.
The last 3 family weddings ( niece in 2011) and my other nieces and my son's in the last 2 weeks she got totally drunk. She was sick at the 1st one and went home early, at my nieces she started a row with all of us when we stopped her driving home and at my son's she was passed out in the loo for an hour before my OH and sis could get her up and back to the hotel . She then passed out again in the hotel foyer and had to be put to bed.
When we spoke to her today she said it in allergy not too much to drink. She thinks we are critising her but we are just trying to help.
So if you get drunk bear in mind it may actually be an allergy.

I have heard of many different excuses.. but not an allergy. I may use this one next time I have drunk too much!! I should highlight that I drink 4-5 times a year and rarely more than a few drinks as I am ill the next day. Good luck to all those giving up x

  • Er - if you have an allergy to drink, you simply don't drink! I honestly cannot understand people that get that drunk, but then I have never been drunk.

I have been drunk and fully understand why people get drunk.:beer::beer:

Not being funny, but as someone who has lived with an alcoholic, I'd have though you'd recognise an excuse when you heard one.

Alcohol allergies are more likely to cause physical symptoms like a rash or anaphylaxis than drunken behaviour.

It sounds as though your sisters problem is taking in alcohol quicker than the body can break it down

I love your last statement.:beer: I wish I could stop putting in  smilies. I really wish I could, as alcohol is the most damaging drug that there is, but  I love the smily

    Debt-free and Proud!
I used to live with an alcoholic before my flatmate and I forced him out of the home. His behaviour was becoming too difficult to live with. He told us he had to drink because he had a medical condition and drinking 10 cans of cider a day was the only thing that helped him manage.

I still remember getting up every morning and seeing the empty cans lined up on the kitchen counter.
