I generally agree with everything you post but in this case I must object.

As a perfectly able person I would never object to someone using a disabled space and a blue badge to collect medicine for a disabled person - regardless of if the disabled person was present or not.

Regardless, as "blue badge" requirements are not applicable on private land the argument is theoretical anyway.

There is no blue badge in this case, and no usage of a disabled bay. I am asking if a visit for a disability related custom is covered.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
  • The only things parking scam companies and POPLA cover are the BPA own rules and POPLA decides which rules apply and which do not to your case .
Asda employ these bast$rds to "fine" it's customers then lie they do not own car parks.
    Be happy...;)
  • I meant covered by the Equality Act

I meant covered by the Equality Act

Given the complete idiocy of Brussels inspired nonsense on even English law and the ridiculous culture surrounding everything from Health and Safety cases to soft sentences, I would not be surprised if it did.

But if it did, then it would make a mockery of the true intent to provide equality to disadvantaged.

And I do hope you use this as your appeal point to find out.

I'm not being pedantic I am stating that the OP has not said anything about who was in the vehicle. That being so its a fair observation as you said unequivocally that the disabled person was not with him. And it's still not clear now

Is it clear now? Any views as a result?

No it's not as the OP still hasn't said if anyone was disabled in the car!
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I believe that the OP is trying to establish whether or not a person acting in some agency capacity for a disabled person would be covered by the Equality Act. And that no disabled person was present at the time.

A reasonable question but I made my view known. But could halibut2209 clarify, please?

As in, during either trip ... was the disabled person with you/your wife in the vehicle?

Ignoring all the issues of disability, blue badges, etc it seems to boil down to a simple issue of Asda saying you can drop off a prescription at our pharmacy but you can't come back to pick it up later! To me that's just ludicrious and makes you wonder what goes through the tiny minds in Asda HQ (if anything). I personally boycott my local Asda store in Llandudno anyway and having read this thread I'm more determined than ever to maintain that boycott. Clearly Asda don't want anyone to make use of their stores anymore so I'm more than happy to oblige. If I ever need a prescription I'll make sure I take it to a proper chemist were they still appreciate the need for good customer service.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

You could be correct but my money would be on the PPC's doing first in last out photos that ASDA are unaware of and I would be chasing ASDA on that basis to get the PPC's to cancel it. But read 1st post again and see that OP is interested in the Equality angle and not double dipping.
