and call it begging call it whatever you want i want to help this little boy as much as i can if begging is what it takes begging is what i shall do thank you everyone for your brill suggestions xxxThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
I didn't mean begging in a (purely) negative way. Just explaining that you're basically giving cash (minus JG's hefty cut) directly to a family (often strangers) in the same way that you might give to a homeless person on the street rather than a charity.
People have been scammed by people fundraising for individuals.
There's no charity input to authenticate the cause (IYSWIM).Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
ahhhhhh i get you now lots of fundraising is coming through the national charity for his type of cancer but after this recent diagnosis they need to fund raise more money and faster than they have been able to with the charity (as obviously they share all money with other sufferers)The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50

How about a cup of tea/coffee auction? or cake auction ? or a task auction?
Someone local-ish to me ran a cup of tea auction on ebay and managed to get it featured on NorthWest tonight. The Coffee mornings seem a good idea with lots of different willing people donating cakes / biscuits / chocolate etc.
A local homeless charity ran a silent auction which was popular.0 -
Just out of interest do the family own their home - they could sell or remortgage and sell every available asset (including cars) before fundraising.
I have every sympathy for the boy but TBH I don't donate to individuals either - my charity money can go to better use been given to registered charities so it can be gift aided.
A lot of the time the chances of success are also probably slim - the UK heatlh service is actually quite advanced (Relatively speaking) and any treatment available abroad is usually experimental or in early stages of research, although if it was my child I would probably try them as well as any chance of a cure is better than none.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
