That's it Puzz, rub it in :naughty:

I've about 400 miles Monday and Tuesday, but they cannot be any worse than coming home from Derby yesterday !! 3 1/2 hrs for 100 miles.

We've not been very money saving this Xmas and are going out for Xmas Day !! 1st time ever, but we've saved up for it. MIL is in Oz with SIL so its guilt free and so stress free for Mrs BB _party_

I'm working right through too, but from Xmas Eve till 5th Jan this will only involve commuting into my loft :rotfl:

    Have a great one Puzz.

    :rudolf:

    Hi BB,

Count down begins.. how many sleeps?? Think its 5 till the big day and 4 till rudolf and his mates land on my roof...!!!

So up early doors to be mum's taxi, the car drives so nice its like she's new not 13 years old.. fingers crossed we get a few more years out of her... Lovely mother has her new car and it is a beauty, I shall ensure she leaves it to me in her will.. not just yet though thanks.....

So dropped dd and then straight to T*sco.. shop.gif Done the main shop for the week, including the rest of the necessary for the christmas dinner, crackers and a couple of nibbles.. not going overboard this year as diet starts 5th Jan and I don't want lots of yummy stuff hanging around...! Plus cost of course..!! I bought the turkey the other day and popped it in the freezer and already have the gammon.. so think we are nearly all sorted..!

Got 2 little gifts still to get and 'santa's wrapping to do.. Have cleared my dining table which was sky high with 'school and work' stuff and been in the loft for my christmas candle thing.. no one is allowed to light it mind.. I've had it for years...!!!! HSxmascandles.gif

Just got the bathroom to do later, the kitchen I will do tomorrow.. along with some more washing and the ironing.. Looking forwards to collecting dd and a relaxing evening in front of drivel on the tv...chartv.gif

Money news.. I have about £45 left in the bank and pretend pay day is monday.. will transfer it out of my account into one of my pots and pay myself at the end of the month as usual.. Should be a nice pay packet as will have 2 months mileage. this will pay car tax which is due by the end of the month, a little overtime and a one off payment which will be somewhere in the region of £100.. plus maybe our payrise!!!! So looking forwards to that payslip...

Hope all well and keeping warm and enjoying lots of social occasions. unlike me who hides from them....!

Wow Puzz, you sound very organised and under control .

I'm intrigued about your Christmas candle thing from the loft ??. Sounds like a nice Christmas tradition.

I am the same as you during Christmas. I just want to hide away, I hate all the Christmas invites for socialising. I would love to just hibernate and come out for Easter :easter_os

I am hopeful that we will have New Years eve at home this year. We do not have any babysitter available and that's before we even think about how much cash we would need for a boozy night in the local pub. I have yearned for a quiet New years eve at home, with a bottle of bubbly, box of chocs and a movie on the tv. Fingers crossed I get my wish this year :)

Hope you get a nice hermit-like Christmas too xxx

Thanks for sharing you two. I was actually depressing myself thinking how weird I am cos I don't want to go to a pre Christmas get together at a friend's house this evening despite having the hostess gift etc sorted.

Another person here who would hibernate for the festivities. I've turned down all bar one social event this year and OH & I are off for a cheap hotel break tomorrow evening.

Other than that I'm not going anywhere, doing anything or seeing anyone, other than DS etc on Christmas Eve at ours.

My NYE goes exactly as you dream Steph, after years of being dragged out by hubby, we now maybe go for coffee and cake and then back to ours for an evening alone drinking, eating something easy prep but tasty and watching TV. It's everything you dream of.

 Been awake since 2. Oh and his mate rolled in, normal snoring commenced....But at 3.30 the mate comes out of the spare room and goes straight into my dd's room:eek: I come flying out our bedroom to remonstrate with an almost naked stranger on my landing who being a little *issed takes awhile to understand. Meanwhile oh snores on.....so I can't sleep as I can't relax and I am now on my second cup of tea..
Words will be had with OH in the morning, and no more male guests to stay...

:jPayday.... not that it is really, so have swiped it out of my account and popped into one of my savings account until the end of the month.. Did get my lump sum/overtime and mileage.. but no pay rise yet.. think April may have been mentioned.. well I've waited this long what's a few more months between friends.....

Caught up on my missing sleep with a nice 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon and in bed for 8.30... Did have to get up at 5.. to get ready to take dd to work for 7.. and then popped to tesco to get my last minute/forgotten/2 presents I hadn't located yet.. stuff.. so all done now...

Doing my banking I noticed my bb provider had cheekily upped my payment by £5 a month. que a call to them freephone of course through sayno.. and the lovely lady did try her best to sell me things, even though I told her I wasn't moving my phone line I just want to pay the basic amount.. she offered me a £2 discount off the new rate.. umm.. no, I didn't agree a new rate, I don't get anything extra for the new rate, I have been a customer for 20 years... so time to move on I think, bless her she did try. I shall investigate BT again as I quite fancy the speedy internet, but will wait till the NY to sort...

Nothing exciting to report, all presents wrapped, food in the fridge and freezer, money in the bank.. :D
