Jobs for today.....


Start researching hotels for mini break with mother as she has provided me with maps and all sorts... she will pay upfront and then I will pay her back my share.. Aiming at no more than £140 each for 3 nights.....


Weigh day.. I know I started on monday but always prefer a friday for official weigh day before the weekend excesses start...!!!


So Monday was 10.13.. Today..... 10.10.... :T Next week aiming for a 2lb loss... come on puzz, you can do it..!!!


Mini payday for me today (from oh) so have potted £15 left from last week split between dd's trip pot and my trip pot....


No overtime done this week, but OH is working nights/aways all of next week so will go out and do some then... Also got a couple of hours to do tomorrow whilst dd is at work...


Hoping for a cheap weekend, not sure if we are going to the social tomorrow or not..dd's choice.. I shall wait to hear...!! Hope to get some christmas shopping done sunday but that is budgeted for so won't effect my normal acccount...


That's about it at the moment.. off to do surveys and research...

Well Done Puzz:T Fantastic! I have just weighed in at 10.10 (down from 10.11 last week). Mostly from not drinking much tea last two days as early part of week was comfort eating cake.
keep going...... at the diet and at me! I might kick and scream and complain but it will do me good.

Hi Noah, it is cheese with me I could eat it by the block!! None since Monday..:( but it does reflect in my weightloss....boo..

Spent lots of today researching hotels, have booked 3!!!! Free cancellation I'm not that silly! Haven't yet decided on best location..more research! 2 under budget and 1 over by £23 each...that will be the rooftop bar then ! Will discuss with mother tomorrow!

Forgot to add the bad bits of the day...
dd texts to say her brand new as in yesterday bag has broken.....contacted company they have sent replacement out I need to free return this one..
dd texts to say her phone battery is dying..well we knew this... ordered one from Samsung...card declined:eek: checked bank funds available, rang bank it was Samsung rejecting order..rang Samsung..website broken but no longer doing them gave me a few genuine web shops to order from... cost £4.98 more...so £25.98 spent...
And it all comes in three' s.... key fob to open car..Doesn't work... I think it's called sod' s.......!
Oh well it's Friday...have wine and sausage,egg and chips for tea...well I will have when I cook it when OH is back from the pub!

But on the upside.. its not raining at the moment.. !


Updates..


Saturday.. did a bit of overtime, but not a lot else achieved and due to the weather opted not to go to fireworks and stayed in the warm and had a girls tv night...


Sunday..


Had to do all the things I didn't do on saturday.. so and and... also managed a bit of shopping.. Items bought in town were all with vouchers, love that sort of shopping.. and this morning I have done a big order with amazon for all the dvd's that dd wants... have transferred cash from christmas savings to normal bank account....


Also remembered I had recently met someone from the city we are going too next spring so popped in and took there advice as to the best location to stay in and then we chose a new hotel... have cancelled the other 3..! overbudget of course but only by £38 each so not too bad.. total cost £289 pp for travel and accommodation.. not bad for 3 nights I don't think...


Fantastic service from the broken bag company.. it arrived Thursday, broke friday and a new one was delivered saturday..! Can't complain about that can you...!!


It will either be treadmill or overtime visit tonight I shall decide later..!!

Wow Puzzcat you sound super organised.

I am waiting for my kiddo's to decide what their main present will be before I commit to buying the other little bits. ds keeps changing his mind and Dd has no clue .

Will probably be the usual chaotic rush mid December like usual .

Well done for avoiding the fireworks, we ended up going and it cost me a small fortune. £24 to just get us all in and that's before the kids had a go on the "Hook a Duck" and we all had a hot chocolate :eek:. Shocking prices. I usually take a flask but was dis organised and did'nt have any hot chocolate at home :mad:.

Oh well, done for another year, onwards and upwards.

Happy Friday and cheeky day off for me..!


I'm in an unusal position this year that means I have quite a lot of leave left to take. I have already got Christmas booked off and booked off some for city break with lovely mother.. but still have another 2 weeks to take...


Had to wait in for a Tesco delivery as they sent me a voucher thought it rude not to use it.. and didn't have to go and get wet collecting my shopping!! Also had a courier collecting the incorrect battery that was sent. Both been now so the rest of the day I am free to wander...!!


I Will head to town to pay in some cash... yep I have some cash left... :j.. i have managed to save £40 over the last couple of weeks so that will go into my dd's big school trip fund and I also have another £10 of 20p's to cash in which will go into my summer holiday 2015 fund...


Have received all but 1 of the christmas orders I did and will be heading off to do some more shopping over the weekend..


Had a funny old week, was very low on Tuesday through to wednesday to the point I though I was suffering from depression again.. but come mid day wednesday and the grey cloud lifted. I even managed to comeplete 40% of my work target for the month and an evening visit is now out the way..


I still have 3 overtime visits, which I would like to get rid of in November so I need a kick up the ** to get them done...


Weigh in.. stayed the same but did no exercise and ate 'cheese' yesterday.. naughty me..!! will try to do better next week..


2 disturbed nights.. OH decided to not drive to his friends from work on wednesday but leave at 4am.. which of course meant I and the 's were then woken up....


Last night dd was on the phone when I went to bed and I woke to hear talking at 3.30am.. and she was still on the phone.. I guess that's the fun of being a teenager who now goes to a boys school...!!! She was full of beans this morning though, amazing how they can cope with so little sleep...


So onwards and upwards and welcome to the weekend...

Just been catching up - you seem so organised for Christmas!
Sorry you were a bit down at the beginning of last week but glad that cloud lifted for you towards the middle of the week. Hope you have had a great weekend _ I am still stuck at 10.10 too - its so much harder when its cold not to comfort eat. But I only had three teas all day yesterday (and a mars bar;)) and drank hot water to warm my hands while I worked :cool:.


I have had the woken at 3am by DD chatting on Skype/phone experience many a time:mad: I used to get quite cross and now she's not here I miss it

Good Morning fellow mse'ers...!


Well actually it hasn't been a good morning at all.. Had day planned out and decided to start by checking my online banking which I do very regularly... Today it showed a bounced dd.. :eek:


The balance of the account after the dd supposedly was paid was £129 so what was that all about? This was for council tax so not one to ignore.. So I rang the Council to be told it would have been the bank who recalled it. That took about 20 minutes of holding on.. I then rang the bank who could only say insufficient cleared funds.. WHAT.. there were no transactions going in or out the account so this didn't make sense but the lady said that's all she can tell me.. well not happy ... plus £5 charge for the pleasure... So let's escalate and speak to a supervisor...He trots off to find out what's going on as doesn't understand it either......


Call back... apparantly 2 of the free cancellation hotels I booked last week had put a reserve on my card.. totalling.. £230..:eek:


Now this is something I have never heard of before, no mention on hotel websites or the booking sites and doesn't show on the online banking... They do this for 7 days but are suppose to inform you... mystery solved anyway, One fell off yesterday and the other will tomorrow.. total about 30 minutes call...


Now to sort the direct debit... back onto council.. 20 minutes... no they won't retake the dd, even though the bank say they will... (I will be super cross if it gets taken twice..) so have paid by card having transferred extra over from my savings to ensure it will get paid....


Emails to both booking sites to express my crossness....!!! don't expect I'll get a response, still waiting for one from the CEO of vodafone that I emailed last week.. ho hum... makes me feel better having a moan and I'm not going to stay in either of them!!


Bank confirmed they will refund £5 as it was a third party that caused the problem... So that leads to now, half a day wasted ...... never mind, onwards and upwards....


No other money news, scared to use my bank account in case there are any othere secret reserves holding my money...!!! Still waiting for 2 refunds, how come they are quick enough to take your cash, but soooo slow to return it...!!!:mad:


Happier news.. Had lovely mother over for tea last night and narrowed hotels down from 5 to 2.. one of those left is the cause of my problems today so I think I shall go with the other which is at least £50 cheaper and then brings us back into the £250 pp budget. :T


This grey cloud is still bobbing around, can't seem to lose it.. I know if I got going on the diet and exercise it would help but just not feeling the love...!!


In other news, I came up with an idea for work/christmas... a few years back a colleague used to collect cash donations for crisis instead of sending christmas cards.. Well I've come up with the idea of people donating food for the local foodbank and they have confirmed they would like that.. my boss has okayed it so I will need to launch the idea at the team meeting later this week... (I hate public speaking...)


That's about all of my waffle for today.. no more late night phonecalls for dd i'm pleased to say.. she was very tired the next evening and even had a 2 hours afternoon nap...

Think its going to be one of these weeks.. :mad:...


Off on a course this morning, I was a invited as a replacement for one of my colleagues on the 22 Oct.. Got to venue, parked, found room..no-one .... ok... contact office, speak to another colleague who was suppose to be on course.. oh date got changed didn't you get the email... err.. no or I wouldn't be standing in an empty room in a different office... turns out I was invited after the date change but the thoughtful person sent out the original date to me... there loss I'll do my own thing then..!


One of the hotels is still holding onto £102 of my money.. :mad: it better not upset any of my other outgoings but its hard to work out what I have left so I daren't spend anything on my card until this bloomin reserve has dropped off...!


One refund received, one still outstanding....


Won the lottery.. :j Ok.. £2.90.. so wont be going anywhere..!


Off to see family tonight whilst dd is at work and for a quick meal at my mother's local dodgy italian restaurant.. shouldn't be expensive as I won't be drinking as driving and will just have a main..


Have dropped the overtime visits.. I'm not going to get them done alongside the evening one's I already have to do so best release them for someone eise to pick up.. money would be nice but I do have a few saturdays when I can pick up a few hours so that will have to suffice..


Stupid hotel booking site approached the wrong hotel about my issues and now has confused them, and they are my main contender to stay in.. I'm sure it will all sort itself out..!!


Think maybe I should just hibernate this week and start again next week..
