Not quite hump day....
So dd was home for the weekend and needless to say I am now about £50 poorer... we did go to the cinema.. to see Hidden Figures, excellent movie and then had a cheeky mcd's afterwards... Luckily payday is peaking round the corner a week today.....
Still hanging on to £60 in the bank would love to have this left to sweep into my pots but the end of the month something always seems to occur...! Plus I have a shopping afternoon with lovely mother on Thursday, although she is adamant she wants to buy me a new coat.. I'm not complaining.... still have my Christmas gift cards as well so hoping I won't actually be spending real money...
I am being spammed with numerous phone calls on the land line from Talk Talk, well not Talk Talk obviously but you know the one's.. you have a virus on your computer etc.etc... I do pull the plug every few days but sort of miss them so plug back in.. this morning I have had 3.. The first and second I kept shouting George, bring me my breakfast.. hard boiled egg and strong sweet tea.. the second didn't take kindly to this and called me all sorts of rude names...:rotfl: I have unplugged now for a rest...!
I received a bizarre call followed by an email from a company I had previously bought something from and then had to return part of it back in November I think. They had sent me a £10 prepaid credit card to be used online... well could I find anything I wanted for exactly £10... well yep I did and ordered 2 new pillows for my spare room.. payment went through and they are ready for collection.. result..:D
OH now away until Sunday evening... tidy house.. well it will be...! Unfortunately I do have to do some work this week but will sneak in a bit of clearing and tidying as well...!
I even got in the garden on Sunday to tidy my pots ready for veggie planting... and I hoovered and washed my lovely new car.....
Right best get on, earn those pennies..

Friday....:j:j:j
And dd is on her way home... again... I am such a lovable mum she can't keep away...!! I may not see her till later mind, as I have an appointment this afternoon.. boo.....
Before I forget.. I have had 2 more of those silent migraines.. the symptoms completely fit good old google and now I can sense when it is on its way... so I have taken some online advice and bought some vitamins and magnesium supplements that are suggested may help.. I am sure it is all stress and age related and I am not going to panic just yet...!! Turns out lovely mother had one about 40 years ago...
Shopping trip with lovely mother.. and she bought me a new coat... £85.. But 20% off so £68... She also bought lunch and a ready meal for my tea...! I also discussed the finances and usa for dd with her and she thinks it will be fine but might share the load with lovely father if he agrees... obviously OH and I will actually be paying it.. lord only knows where from.. oh well worry about that another day..:rotfl:
So no plans for the weekend, hoping to keep it low cost...:rotfl: Lovely mother is stuck with my nieces on sunday pm/eve so I may drop dd half way home.. at a station not just at the side of the road.. and then go assist LM...
Payday in 4 days. Bank account just under £50.....
City break with LM to be paid for end of next week, all saved ready, just need to sort my spendies from this pay packet.. I already have e190 so thinking another couple of £100 should do it....
Right best get on.. Happy weekend, its nearly here...

:j:j:j Friday... :j:j:j
Well that was a quick week...!! So what has puzz been upto..
dd came home last weekend and I actually managed to not spend a fortune..! apart from the £20 on train travel of course.... we had a nice weekend.. Lovely mother and lovely father both came over for a cuppa to talk to dd about her course.. they have agreed to be sponsors so that's all good.. :T:T
Trains were being a pig on Sunday so dd decided to stay an extra night... nice...:D Sunday afternoon I went and assisted in niece sitting.. both my parents were in residence and boy did they look knackered.... I stayed for 2 hours and played/made tea/washed up/fed cats etc etc... and am now rechristened Mary Poppins... haha... dd said but you don't even like children.. except my own of course...!
Busy week at work, course all day Wednesday and yesterday I was out in the other Borough and it was very chilly...! So today I am having a lazy day in my home office...!
OH been home since Sunday and not working.. Under my feet all week, at least I have been busy...! He better be back out earning the pennies next week....
DMP payments gone so a whole 0.1% more paid off.. :rotfl: I am now continuing with my low payments to the 6 until they ask for more... puzz needs the savings I have a university to buy you know....!
Car payment done so only £3700 left.... and transferred some savings into dd's rent savings pot.. will split the rest up later...
A free weekend for me... dd staying at uni so I can actually plan my weekend.... out for drinks this evening at a neighbours, need to go to both local towns, collect OH's birthday present.. £95 running shoes... He may need them to get away from me next week if he's not working...:rotfl: will also pick up a couple of small gifts when out and about... need to collect prescription and pay some money into the bank...also would like to get fringe cut.. I believe it is free where I had my hair cut... and spend time planning my city break with LM.. I have booked our transfers abroad today, have paid hotel so just got to sort spendies..
Oh and some housework no doubt...! so maybe not so relaxing a weekend after all...
Bye for now...

What an interesting and action-packed life you lead, Puzz:T. Lots of good things going on and to look forward to:beer:.
I know exactly what you mean about OH being under your feet;). I had a wobble, well more like a full scale panic:eek:, yesterday when OH announced that he might not be going away at the beginning of April after all:eek::eek::eek:. And there was my little countdown chart getting nicely filled in:). I managed to convince him that a little break is exactly what he needs so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that's the last we'll hear about him not going;)
Have been incommunicado for days as first my internet was playing up and the connection was constantly dropping out. I've now changed providers but at the time when the switchover was due to happen I was totally occupied with something else and it's been a further few days until I was totally up and running. Fingers crossed, everything is running like clockwork so far:j:j:j0 -
Morning Puzz,
Sounds all going good. Nice new coat:T and US sounds exciting for DD. Sorry to hear about the migraines - hope they settle down.
enjoy the rest of the week

I hope everything is well in Puzzland and that the migraines have stopped.
Just checking something in my diary and was thrilled to see that there's only 32 more days until OH goes on his short break:j. Anyone reading that comment must think I'm really weird (well, I probably am:rotfl:) but I just can't wait to have the house to myself for a few days. Well, me and the cat:j. OH has a very short temper and gets very irritated by things, has unsocial sleep-patterns, always feels warm so won't have the heating on even when it's really cold for anyone else, likes deafeningly loud films on TV etc etc. He sounds horrible from that description but I love him to bits despite everything. My own peaceful space is such an attractive prospect for a short while though. I expect I'll be fed up of the quiet and will be willing him to come home before the week's over:rotfl:0 -
Hello Puzzcat, I have subscribed to your diary and am working my way through. In Feb 2014 at the moment. I have been on a DMP a long time now and even managed to run up more debt and in Jan 2015 had second LBM and been on track since. This website has been so useful and I'm always popping in and out. It's reassuring to feel not so alone as only two people know the mess I got myself into and as I approach 50 in a couple of years I am so cross with myself with my foolishness. Anyway I will get there. So loving your diary, take care x0

Welcome, Daydreambeliever:hello:. Sorry, Puzz, just realised it looks like I've an almighty cheek welcoming someone to a diary that isn't even mine:o
Just wanted to say, Daydreambeliever, that I know exactly how you feel when you say that hardly anyone in real life knows about your debt situation. In my case not a single person knows, not even OH:o. It was worse in the early desperate-for-money days when I was constantly worrying about him answering phone calls from debt collectors and so on or, horror of horrors, a debt collector knocking on the door. Neither ever happened, thank goodness:j, and once I started on my DMP I felt the load lighten.
Now I've repaid over half my debt and my total looks so much more manageable (although still very high:eek:) I feel so much more relaxed. But the main factor has been reading Puzz's and other diaries on MSE which have given me such a boost and a feeling that I'm not alone on the trudge to debt freedom. It's wonderful to have found true friends on here to share things with. Being in debt can be such a scary and lonely place. Puzz is a real inspiration to me, handling whatever life throws at her with humour and great good sense. Stick with her diary, it won't lead you wrong. I've learned so much from her. Here's to Puzz:beer: (wish I could afford champagne instead of beer;))
Sending hugs and positive vibes to you on your debt-free journey, Daydreambeliever:kisses3:0 -
:j:j:j Friday.....
Wow, hello everyone.... cbc you do make me laugh I so wish I did know you in RL..:rotfl:
Noah, thanks for popping in, hope your looking after yourself?
Daydreambeliever thank you for your kind words, you may fall asleep many times whilst reading my mad ramblings...!
So what a week puzz has had....
So last weekend I had a dd free one...drinks with neighbour on the friday, very lovely and very mse as provided by them...:money:
Saturday... lots of housework nice quiet day...
Sunday.... It all started so well.. I went off to the shops and actually spent my gift cards... I bought 2 pairs of jeans and 2 tops, and some bit & bobs for oh's birthday.. free fringe trim..:money: and a cheeky 99p cheeseburger for BK.. then I came home...
I was met by my neighbour who said the police had been round as the old chap opposite had been burgled on saturday afternoon, always a worry... but there is an alley running behind the houses opposite so they are more vulnerable.. unfortunately I didn't see anyone lugging a 10 stone old fashioned tv off into the distance..
Then I entered the house.. oh my god the smell of cat wee was intense.. I am so glad I washed my floors yesterday... so the nasty fluffy cat that keeps hanging around has been in being territorial so more housework for me...
Then I broke my inside back door lock and locked us all in the house.. so baked beans and salad looked like the only option for tea... I did manage to get the door opened so have now hidden the key and we will have to use the bolt instead...
Right stopping now, back in a minute...Christmas 2020 £109

MY DIARY http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=47686850 -
So... monday passed without incident, lulling me into a false sense of security...
Tuesday... out and about in the morning no issues.. out in the afternoon and came back to carnage.... cat wee smell everywhere, cat poo on my kitchen floor and soo much black fur.. now my babies are black too but this time it was obviously my little girl who is also partially sighted, what a bully I was so angry and still am... all cleared up and no obvious damage to house or my cat, but it had even sprayed on my sofa/cushions... dirty tom.... so since then I have had to keep the cat flap blocked up and have only been letting mine out for short times...
I am currently trialing used cat litter round the outside of the door as this is meant to deter.. who knows.. I really didn't need more things to worry about! The cat flap was an expensive microchip one but it broke a number of years ago, unfortunately if the cats come at it too fast it just breaks the connection.. but with little other choice I have just ordered a new £70 one which will arrive tonight and OH can fit it tomorrow... not sure what else I can do have tried on FB for anyone who owns it/knows it but no clue as yet... pets they are as much a worry as children..
So dd is on the way home, cats are inside much to the little boys disgust but I have to go out this afternoon and dd will freak if something happens whilst she is here on her own....!
Also had to upgrade dd's phone (it was gifted second hand about 3 years ago..) so another increase in my monthly costs.. along with c.tax and water no doubt ...
So a spendy week, so won't be as much to save this month now:(
Hoping for a not too spendy weekend..
Gosh I am exhausted.. amazed I haven't had one of my silent migraines this week.. thought one was coming this morning but ok at the moment...!
Lovely mother in hospital today having a thing on her face looked at, bless she says they not allowed to touch it until after our holiday, hopefully its something and nothing... City break in 10 days time...
Right best get on with some work...! although the system keeps crashing here and in the office so its a slow process...
Much Love..
