Hi Puzz thanks a lot for the info, sorry I have been a while to respond, a few things going on has meant not much time spent online!! That's good as I think I will end up too with 3 months of £1's. I've been a bit rubbish actually as i've been ignoring calls from the creditors, will have to answer some soon just to clarify what's going on - although I am still only in month 1 of £1 payments so its hardly a disaster for them!! Unplugged my house phone (never use it anyway), so its a lot easier to avoid them just on the mobile!! Even though they keep rining and sending letters, I already just can't beleive what a releif it's been this month to be able to pay for stuff I've needed to get sorted for ages - sick of having the rest of my life on hold to satisfy them!! It's so liberating to be able to pay my car tax, some insurance etc with actual money not credit - it makes me really not care too much about any hassle I have along the line - this is how it just has to be!!! Hope alls well with you, Schmalf.x

    Hi Schmalf,

Glad to see your hanging on in here..! They do say the first few months are the worst until all the creditors get the message and your dmp provider starts paying them... It is a wonderful feeling not having to 'find' that money every month isn't it... I haven't used a credit card since early August and have been working to my SC budget since then so that I was ready for it for when it kicked in.. ie; now.. for me... My first payment went to SC on the 1st November and my creditors will receive there share on the 25th. I have heard very little from any of them over the last few weeks.
I have started to receive statements and in the majority they appear to have frozen interest and charges.. at least for now...! I wasn't planning on speaking to them, but then actually found it quite liberating to take control and when they informed me you are behind with payment etc. I just told them I was/am setting up a dmp with SC and gave my ref number. I think you find the right arm and left arm don't communicate and I can now recognise the computer generated.. PAY ME NOW.. letters and just ignore those ones... The problem is even though I wrote to them all and sent cheques the departments don't communicate so by answering the phone you are probably informing someone for the first time who didn't know what was happening.. unless its Halifax they are just plain stoopid...

Good luck with it all and keep posting as we can share the journey together...

    Love Puzz. x

    Its Friday.....

My favourite day of the week.... No work for 2 days and 2 lovely lie in's to look forwards to...

So this week.. lots of work and next week looks even worse..

On the plus side, It is what I'm paid to do so can't moan really...And the money does come in handy...:rotfl:

Tonight is a chilled night with my dd, we are going to settle down later and watch Les Mis.. lovely film and I'm looking forwards to seeing it again.. She will snack on chocolate and I shall have cheese and wine.....drink.gif

Tomorrow I have to get my house ready for my girls night.. I am cooking a gluten free meal, which I tried out on another friend last week.. she is still speaking to me so it can't have been that bad...lol.gif Everyone is nominated to bring bits with them and of course the obligitory wine... I do a bring what you want to drink policy and then everyone gets what they want and if they bring something rank then that's what they are stuck with..:rotfl:

Otherwise a quiet weekend, may go and do some more HSxmastree.gif shopping on sunday.

Bank account checked and quidco payment moved to wedding fund..

Half way to next payday... and then it will be December.. this year has flown past and I'm really looking forwards to the new year. Having started the dmp this year it has given me such a sense of relief I cannot begin to tell you. No more dark places for me.. Life is for Living and that's what I'm going to do.. well when I can afford it ...

Venice still going ahead just need to confirm dates.. Mother has picked the most expensive hotel out of the 4 she gave me to look at....I love my mum...HShearts11_27135.gif

We went to NY together last November and had a fab time, it was 4 days after the hurricane so a bit wet....We flyed posh class as family is in the industry.. luxury is not the word... This time we decided to do a nearer trip and then San Fran is on the cards for 2015... Her cards I may add not mine.... I'm poor you know...!!!

Hope anyone reading this has a fabby weekend.. xxx

Hi Puzz thanks for the reply - sounds like things have settled down quite well for you on the DMP so far, fingers crossed for mine too!!! I am going to request a January start date - New Year New Start and all that, but most importantly it means I can start the dmp officially with my money in order - there is no way I am struggling any more!!!! Got car and pet insurance coming up in Jan, plus a family debt and of course Christmas before that, so I am determined to pay for all this with proper cash and have it out of the way for the start.
Your Mum sounds ace - loving the fact shes picked the most expensive hotel ha ha!! I am lucky with my parents too, they help me out loads (I never ask as I don't like to, but they offer and unfortunately I've been in the position where its been hard to turn down :(), and they have a trip planned for the new year for us all (don't know where yet)! They don't know about my money situation, they'd be horrified, but they know I've never got much swishing about!
My major money saving exercise for the week is turning down a meal out with friends next weekend and just meeting them later for a few drinks (still expensive but cheaper!). I can drive over and leave the car, so only a fairly cheap taxi ride home too. Pity I'm not a bloke or I could walk home! Don't go out that much but really can't face life as a total hermit - get the impression you are similar here!

Another Monday... I'm sure there are more of them than any other day in the month.... Still its afternoon now so will soon be Tuesday...:D

Hi Schmalf, Sounds like you now have a plan and I agree if you can delay the start to get yourself straight it would be beneficial. have you spoken to SC about it? I hope you have been generous with your budget for when the dmp starts, you don't want to be scrimping around for the next however many years..... I am definately a hermit kind of girl, would much prefer to stay home all the time if I could... if only work would pay me to do that...:rotfl:

Is it a special occasion your folks are taking you away for? or just seasonal... I hope they are paying...! My mum is grand, drives me mad but then parents do... No one other than this lovely site know about my debts in any detail, only my OH knows I'm in debt but not by how much..

My mum has had some health issues over the past few years and has decided life is too short and you can't take it with you so we may as well enjoy spending it now..:T

I received 2 standard snotty letters from NW on saturday, have filed them.... also got one of my token cheques returned by creation with a letter stating can I make it out to the bank instead of me.. well actually no I can't, the cost of the stamps for posting it twice would outway the cost of the token payment. So I have filed that one in the bin. They will get there first dmp payment a week today so can wait till then.. which means i'm £1 richer....:rotfl:

My BB phone has finally died, it is 3 years old. The previous upgrade I sold.. needed the funds don't you know.. contract is up in January so in the meantime I've reverted back to my old nokia. I never really use the internet as such on it anyway, just facebook and emails and I will just have to do that when i'm home....

HSsnowmen.gif Christmas shopping yesterday.. bargain.. got 2 tins of nice biscuits for the nan's from dd.. reduced 20%, then I had a £4.80 old gift card to use up, and paid with a voucher from Ipsos.. Cost £9.40... 2 more crossed off the list.. also bought another main one for dd.. voucher again... I'm probably about half way done now, still got my OH to sort but tend just buy him bits and bobs... dd is always the costly one...

Will be getting together with mother sometime this week I expect to sort charjet.gif for Venice.....

Had girls over saturday, we tend to go away every other year for a weekend.. i missed the last one due to friend's illness, but fought to get the money back so we still have our share and will do something next summer, probably just London.. and then we are looking at Barcelona in 2015... love it, been many times... But of course will have to see how the old dmp goes along before signing up to any more saving plans..

Still trotting on with one poll and ipsos.. must get back into mysurverys but went off them when they redesigned the website... job for the new year me thinks...

Right off to warm up, as its absolutely freezing sitting at my desk in my lounge with no heating on...HSshiver.gif Shall make a cuppa I think and then on with some work calls...

    Bye for now...

I do love a bargain.. just popped into my local co-op and not much yellow stickered food, well not at the prices I like to pay but did pick up 5 bottles of hair conditioner and 2 bottles of shower gel for £3.97....:T

By chance today I went to check up on my vodafone account and noticed they had moved the pay date. cheeky wotsits. it would have meant they would have received 2 payments in November..

I don't think so.. on the phone to them, lady says we wrote/emailed and texted everyone.. oh no, you didn't do any of that to me.. she has cancelled the dd for november.. apparantly.. and will pay on 1st december like usual.. well that's the plan, but with vodafone anything goes...;)

Nothing exciting to report otherwise, planned op for tomorrow has been cancelled so that's good as I have lots of other work I can be getting on with.....
