I've never heard of it. I hate it when these things are imposed on everyone no matter what.

Some people don't like roads, I hate when roads are imposed on everyone

The price you pay for "not being interested in cycling".

It would not hurt you to get out of your car for once and use your body: you might even be healthier as a result.

    That's uncalled for. :(

The OP has a limited time between finishing work and reaching her children's school!

I would try to reach a compromise with your boss on an early finish, OP.

We used to have a problem when the RAC Rally went through our village for a mountain stage.

That just sounds stupid. A road is totally different from a sport.

I can see that it could be more of an issue tomorrow than on any other day because of the fact it is a time trial and therefore all the roads will be closed for the full time unlike other stages where the roads would be closed for a short period of time.

But can't you use the other road out of the business park to escape and just drive round the diversions?

Doesn't OP say there's only one road in and out?

Knowsley Business Park used to have 2 roads in, unless it has changed.

Your boss must have known about this for about 6 months, so why not have a go at them for not making alternative arrangements for the day - homeworking/early start and finish/arranging to park some way away and walking the last bit in.

But seeing as you're having the day off, why not go and watch it? You might actually find it's not 'pathetic' at all, but live, competitive sport at it's best and for free.

Tremendous victory for Bradley Wiggins today takes him into the overall lead.
