update on this i bought one and a set of blades and fund it useless even cutting bits of soft wood strips took a while (two passes with the bow saw) had t use the long blade and it was flapping didnt feel safe maybe with a decent blade it would be ok but i for one will be ticking with the bow saw from now on0

Did you get the bosch blades? or the Aldi ones? Also sounds like the blade wasn't clamped in tight enough??? (My recip saw isn't an aldi one - its a wickes home brand -but it wouldn't have been expensive ) The pruning ones have coarse teeth - I find a finer tooth saw blade easier for softwood/bought wood and the pruning blades better for green wood...0
