Can you post a link to this?0 -
Last week I had a buyer who bought three items on Sunday. I combined postage to actual cost of £1.40 and sent them in one small packet on Monday, 2nd class as paid for
On Wednesday morning he left feedback for all three:
Described - 5* for all three
Dispatch time - 5* / 3* and 1*
Postal Charge - 5* / 2* and 3*
All in the same packet, how did he work that out? I give up:(
He has a feedback count of 22 so obviously has no idea about stars.
I am debating whether to block him but he bid up good prices on two of the items which have been listed a few times and I was glad to shift them. He is a collector so he might buy again.

think based on the information we have that reporting is a bit jumping the gun as well, the buyer has just basically asked for an update, nothing too wrong with that. From what we have seen they are not demanding anything special or making any threatening noises. A polite reply stating the facts that the auction showed 7 days dispatch and an estimate on when the item was going to be posted may well have been sufficient.
This is of course said without knowing full details of what the buyer said.
Just think that as sellers its a bit much for us to complain about buyers jumping the gun and then do exactly that ourselves!
Do you only read the bits you agree with.
I did point out the delivery time - and then got abuse.
Yesterday - buyer buys item, chooses 2nd class - and then says deliver to a different address as im away and need it TOMORROW!!!!!!
I had no choice but to post quick to the different address - due to my recently attacked stars. He got it today - and low and behold hes bought the wrong item.
I don't even sell the item he wants - and hes asking me to replace it rather than refund on return. I'll prbably end up going out and buying him one.
Oh, the joys of Ebay. The day they fall - is the day i dance in the streets.0 -

I thought a buyer could only have one lot of stars for a seller in a 7 day period. I may be out of date, so perhaps someone could verify that or call me an idiot?
Pretty sure only the first DSR will be counted for that sale - the rest won't.
If the buyer left the good stars first - then happy days. But if the bad ones were added first - bad news for seller.0 -
Ideally all sellers should dispatch sold items within 3 days - Any longer an you just leave yourself open for compliant.
It doesn't matter if you state longer dispatch times, you will be marked by the majority on how fast the item arrived after they paid. If you paid on a Thursday, then you would expect it to arrive Monday/Tuesday.
Its unfair, but the ebay attitude is - I paid for it, where is it?0 -

You seem to be misunderstanding my post. I was not referring to your situation where you have tried to work with the buyer and they have been abusive, then reporting is exactly right.
The post of yours I quoted was a direct response to KatiePrecilla original post. I was saying that from the information we have from KatiePrecilla that reporting is a bit extreme based on THAT situation, as far as we know there have been no demands or abuse, just 1 email asking where the goods are, yes the buyer is a bit fast making that enquiry but it's hardly worth reporting them for!if i had known then what i know now0 -
I find I have been disorganised about posting at times in the past, which isn't good enough, and ive now learnt. If I sell a lot of items I need to have the packaging all ready and poised to go when the listings finish on a Sunday evening, or stagger it so some items finish in the afternoon instead, and do so now.I do find I have to check several times a day to see who's paid, and accept I have to deal with impatient buyers. I did have a colleague say to me once about someone hassling them " I've got three kids, I haven't got time what do they expect" which is just ludicrous. If you can't honour your customers expectations, don't be surprised if you get bad feedback. When it comes to cash on collection, even if you ask them to contact you promptly, all that happens is they tell you they are going on holiday so can't pick the item up.. C'est la vie..0

sadly no matter what you specify, buyers expect next day shipping an ebay back this, so if you cannot ship within a day or two, its best you ensure your listings all end just before a day you CAN ship
This is what I do, however, buyers rarely all pay that day which is what frustrates me. I work full time and only sell 10 or so items at a time, usually clothes etc. I literally cannot get to the PO some days and aim to end things just before the weekend, but the amount of people that don't pay in time..... so frustrating. I am lucky however I can ask my mum to do a few but I hate imposing on her, especially when it's dribs and drabs. I have 14 ending today, what are the odds of all 14 paying today?!0
