Impatient Buyers!

How long do you feel is too long for a buyer to wait?
I sold an item on Thursday evening and they paid later that night.
I had a message through Ebay yesterday asking where the items was as it had 'been a few days'!!
I was planning on posting it Monday (today) and she has really got my back up!! Am I being silly or would you expect an item within a couple of days?!?!?!
I do have a job and 3 children so can not just run out and post it as quickly as I would like too, but feel that the buyer is being unrealistic!

What do your settings state for posting time?
Agree they are being a bit quick of the mark but if your settings state you will post with in 1 day and for example your charging for next day special then technically it should be arriving this morning. But if you state 2-3 days to post and its going 2nd standard they are taking the mick.0 -
you should post items within 3 days of winning bid and mark the item dispatched as the buyer could after 4 days claim through ebay they have not received the item.0

Because of work, I actually say postage within 7 days, just to cover myself, but normally manage to do it within 3-4 days.Nothing feels better than saving money :j0

Some people do get mixed up when they purchased something, especially on long auctions. I usually answer reminding them when purchase was made and that if the product isn't with them (in this case) by Wednesday to contact again.
Most buyers would expect you to send on the Friday (no one really looks at dispatch times), so if it was me I'd expect it by Tuesday and probably not make contact until Thursday or Friday, if not received, depending on postage method..0 -

You should post within whatever dispatch times you state on your listing, as that is what defines when a buyer can open an INR case.0 -

I work full-time with a family in tow so whenever I list an item on eBay, I set the auction to finish on a Sunday. If it sells, I can wrap it up in the evening and slip out to the post office at lunchtime on Monday, at lunchtime.
I realise that not everyone can do this as easily, but even posting within hours of receiving payment isn't fast enough for some buyers! However, as a private seller, I can't afford to take unnecessary hits against my feedback and DSRs, so I make sure I minimise the risk of buyers creating dramas over delivery times.
The worst problem I have is buyers who take forever to pay - then start compalining about having to wait for delivery! I seem to get one of those about once every couple of months... and I'm going to hazard a guess that they are the few giving me low DSRs for delivery times!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

in 2006 i once had someone ( a newbie) leave me neg feedback less than 2 minutes after winning an item say that have not received the item. i had ebay remove this, a month later another newbie did the same thing ( suspected it was the same person) but this time when i reported this to ebay they suspended my account for 12 months as a bad seller. even today these 2 newbie accounts are still classed as active but have never had any activity on their accounts. so looks like they were set up to cause me trouble0

I always state that if they pay by 10pm the item will be sent next day,i try to give the buyer what I expect when I buy.I maybe harsh but I think if you haven't got time to pack the item up when you have set the sale to end then maybe you don't have time to sell on ebay!0
