Interesting, I have often wondered if the modern bread making process makes a loaf with more water in it and encouraging a slogan like "Why sell flour when you can sell water" ?
[As in "Why sell meat............" that applies to the ham market.]

I dont know if this is new but I went to Asda today and I cant believe its not butter was £1. Now I thought it was for 500g but on closer inspection I found the pack is now only 400g. Shrunk by 100g?
Next to it were the bigger packs of 1kg for £1.50:rotfl:

My dad did some work for Rizla, the cigarette paper roll it yourself company, many years ago.
When faced by rising costs, they cut the number of papers in the packet.
Sackfuls of letters arrived complaining.
These days we can just have a good winge on here or on Twitter.

I'm not sure but it seems to me that Seeds of Change sauces were 500g and are now 350g. The Mediterranean vegetable one used to have lots of veg, one I had at weekend was all tomatoes, a tad watery and only two bits of courgettes0

Not searched the entire thread but Lidl Green Grocer's peas have shrunk from 1kg to 700g, still the same price at 99p though.0

Went to make a sandwich from new loaf today and thought these slices look a bit small.
Checked the packet Morrison Savers Brown Sliced was 800g now only 720g. Slice count is still 24 so the slice size has shrunk
10% reduction in weight for the same price!0
