!!!!!!, I think it is very clear here that tact is needed and your posts are far from it. It might be easy for you and me but maybe not for the OP. Think it is pretty clear what we are possibly dealing with hear. AP you are always very constructive on MSE, think you have dropped the baton here mate.

job hunter, is there anyway you can type out word for word the letters they sent you recently saying you have been sanctioned? Just dont include your personal details
Just what are 'we' dealing with here? Someone who has been sanctioned and they have no clue as to why? They say they have asked at the JC and the advisor has told them they do not care. I doubt that very much.

No one seriously would be sanctioned and not know why or even string a letter together to the DWP to find out exactly why or make an appointment to see someone or make a phone call?

Lots of people has asked 'why' here and the OP cant tell us.

It was clearly highlighted by them that they cannot read or write early on or at least struggles with it. Think it is entirely plausible at present and I do think there might be a MH element to this as well, think that is pretty clear. That is probably why they cannot express what we need.

Also we know there are a few bad apples at the JC who dont care and they might have happened upon one. Oh and apologies for calling you mate, I recall you are a female:o

So they need to speak the JC manager or the person that deals with people who have special needs etc

Ah mate is ok with me, its better than hun or babe or darling..... LOL

No Why did YOU get sanctioned?

It really is a simple question and I can not get why you do not know but then again I can barely understand your posts at all.

Do you have to be so damned rude?
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • I am shocked at some of the comments from people on here.

It is clear that the OP has some issues with writing and spelling, and all people can do is have a go at him!

All I can suggest to the OP 'Job Hunter' is perhaps try and speak to the local CAB or your local Welfare Rights, if you are getting no help or answers from the Job Centre.

While I have the utmost sympathy for anyone who finds themselves unemployed and unable to make ends meet, I find myself suspicious of the OP of this thread.
I can't shake the feeling that the user is "yanking our chain" and is not as illiterate as he purports to be...

    Sorry.

That is exactly what I was going to say. None of his story makes sense and the spelling looks like the OP is trying to spell badly. He has gone from poorly written with some bad spelling to this crap. I think it is intentional.

    Wummin? Really? Come on!

Its Scot speak or at least near the border.
Nearly every badly spelled word has a Scottish 'accent'

No idea if op is real or not, but can well believe that still in this day and age there are job center staff as unhelpful and obstreperous as represented here.
Over 20 years ago they argued with me about the dole and told me no money for 6 months.

OP if you ever come back after all the mean replies, please get yourself to the citizens advice bureau with any letters you have and let them help you.

Op, You mention NL, get over to a citizen advice office (Motherwell - Cumbernauld) and take all you documentation with you. They can, with your consent, make some calls direct and on your behalf and get the dogs called off, make a referal to get you food and conduct a review of the benefits you recieve.

Do this as a matter of urgency.

    I'm sorry, that's absolute !!!!.

So I worked from 16 to 23 full time and part-time during my university studies, then get sacked from a post-uni job and had to go on JSA, housing benefits, the works for about 6 months. I suppose by your logic I wasn't entitled to that and shouldn't have asked for it, despite me contributing every month I'd worked prior? What absolute tosh is that?

If we're not paying taxes to contribute to society and systems that are supposed to assist in times of hardship, then what the hell are we paying it for? Second homes for politicians? Bailing out banks? Weapons for Syria?

    Hang on a minute...

I have been on JSA myself in the past, but I NEVER did it because I thought or believed that I was entitled to it just because I'd 'paid in', that is absolute tosh! I did it because I genuinely needed the £40 a week or whatever it was, doesn't mean that I was entitled to it.

You think that all your taxes you'd paid for seven years covered you for the six months of 'the works'? You think that it also covered you for any Dr's or hospital visits you made in the seven years you were working, then the six months you weren't working and all of your visits before you were working? You think that the tax you'd paid for seven years paid for all of your education costs from the age of 4yrs to 16yrs (depending on when you started and left school)?

Do you honestly think that you never benefitted from any taxes you may have paid until you were sacked and had to claim 'the works'?

Yes, the government should be able to help people in times of crisis and hardship. It's a benefit, not a God given right because you pay taxes.

I agree that, sometimes, the 'I've paid in all my working life' argument works. Mainly when 80 year old people are moaning about the state pension. Not when people are saying 'I've paid in so the government has to help me and be responsible for my life'.

I don't disagree with anyone claiming benefits if they genuinely need it, I disagree with people claiming because they're 'entitled' or because they've 'paid in'.

  • You seriously need a literacy skills brush up.

What was your previous employment? Why can't you find anything in that industry?

For someone who uses this board so regularly and details their difficulties in such detail, I am amazed that you come across so rudely and a wee bit judgemental!

Real or not, OP deserves the benefit of the doubt. If he is not real, someone might well be in the same circs.
