lol !! probably too many slow days on the forecourt
anyway.... moving on,
Restaurants, especially in certain parts of Belfast where they seem to think they are doing you a favour by letting you dine in their establishment, then dishing you out childrens portions decorated like a christmas tree and finally adding insult to injury by banging an enourmous `service charge` onto the bill0 -

That's a great example and brings me to another offshoot, customer service and how poor it is in many shops and food outlets across the province.0 -

I think you've taken this thread very personally,
Nope. How would i take the pricing of ten pin bowling, coke, or the GC personally? Just asked you to justify WHY you thought the prices you paid were a rip off. Which you didnt do.The_Hurricane wrote: »
you badgered me with nonsense about coke and the Odyssey
YOU brought them both up as a rip off, but couldnt justfiy why you thought so???The_Hurricane wrote: »
until someone mentioned TGC and then you started on them.
I challenged what they said, not "started on them". Forgive me for having an opinion.The_Hurricane wrote: »

Really?
My stats tell me i've been thanked 3,644 times in 2,847 posts, or approx 128% thankyou to post ratio. Yours is .... 50%?The_Hurricane wrote: »
One thing that should be mentioned as an NI rip off is prices we pay for fuel, especially in comparison to our neighbours in the ROI.
Yup. We pay too much for fuel. Everyone does. We're taxed to death on it. BUT, is it that far away from ROI prices or UK mainland prices? Probably a few pence in it.
But again, its been like that for years. My current car does 68mpg, so i minimise the amount of fuel i have to use (25,000 miles a year commuting alone) and our house uses a wood pellet burner which is 1/3 cheaper than oil and eco friendly. :money:0 -

LOL. I no longer sell cars full time - i was too nice to customers and wasnt making enough money!

Yes!! Christmas menus in restaurants seems to be an excuse to double the price and halve the portion size! :eek:0 -

Customer service these days is terrible!0 -

Customer service these days is terrible!
One example today I had in a busy shop, ques were very long but all tills were being operated - no problems thus far.
One member of staff just left and went on lunch without a replacement and prior to that the four members of staff were talking amongst themselves and not greeting the customer. All members of staff were casually dressed, some looked rather scruffy with heavy tatoos visible and not many greeted the customer or thanked them for their custom.
Or maybe I'm just a whinge.

A small 330 ml bottle of coke of which the bottle is recycled cannot come to £1, even at £1.50 that is still 33% profit to the company. How can shops charge £1? Yes I know some are in the region of £1.30 but others are not and cans can be bought for 50p at many outlets - can't believe I'm arguing this point.
As for the ten pin bowling it should be charged per game or per time on the lane rather than on per person per game - it's too excessive at the moment.

Overall your rate is 49% taking all posts into consideration - this is good by the way. I'm down at 34% I do try to help when I can.

Donegal outlets are as low as £1.20 per litre.
