NI Rip Offs

What started off as a great idea for a thread i.e. Rip-offs in NI' has turned into a rant about the price of coke, 10 pin bowling and charges at the Giants Causeway together with postings about the definition of 'excessive' which is something that is subjective and personal views should not be rammed down other people's throat in a threatening or aggressive manner.
The purpose of the Forum is to express an opinion or a view not to be used as a vehicle to agressively challenge other people's views.
Getting back to the original theme of the thread I would suggest the cost of posting a letter to the South of Ireland a rip off and the price we pay for bread products compared to other parts of the UK.Val

I think we're back on track now. The coke was just an example, I also mentioned that the bar in question was of a very poor standard cleanliness wise.
The postage example is a good one.0 -

What's so hard to understand about "they don't have to pay to view it"?
It's perfectly possible to view the Causeway itself for free; you may just have to walk a little further to do so. Your admission fee is for the Visitor Centre, NOT the Causeway stones.0 -

And starting a thread about "Rip Off Northern Ireland" and how the best tourist attraction we have costs a heady £8.50 each and its a rip off is a good thing then is it?
All right, if you think the GC is good value for money that's fine, no need to keep badgering the OP. Why can't you just give us examples of rip-offs you have come across in NI.0 -

The O/P never mentioned the Giants Causeway, so how is that badgering them?

Because to be honest, i havent.
If something is woefully priced i dont buy it. I dont buy it, then complain about it later.
Its an open market, find the cheapest supplier you're happy with and use them.
Wifie was wanting to get a new 3D TV, soundbar and 3d blu ray package, it "seemed" like value in Currys at £999 or something, but i got her to hold off until i checked the prices at home. Turns out it was a 2012 model TV, and the latest model package could have been bought off Amazon totalling £850. As it happens we're going to wait now as we dont really need it just now, but i dont feel 'ripped off' by Currys - their price is their price and noone forced me to pay it.
Needed a memory card reader yesterday, knew i could get one online for a few pence but needed it yesterday as mine had just broken. Checked Argos - Kodak one for £12.99. Reserved it but on the way over to get it called in at poundland and they had a cheapie one for a pound (oddly enough). So i 'saved' £11.99 but then the one i have wont have the quality of the Kodak one or some of the functionality (which i didnt need anyway) so again, not comparing apples with apples so dont feel ripped off.
Lifes too short to feel resentful or ripped off or angry. Evaluate the situation, make a decision and live with it.0 -

I think you've taken this thread very personally, you badgered me with nonsense about coke and the Odyssey until someone mentioned TGC and then you started on them. I've checked some of your previous posts and you do seem like a malcontent.
One thing that should be mentioned as an NI rip off is prices we pay for fuel, especially in comparison to our neighbours in the ROI.0
