I don't mind constructive criticism it was more your tone and the childish snipes such as "did anyone force you to buy the coke?"
I stand by my claims that the Odyssey is a rip off and should be avoided.
Anyway moving on to other rip offs in NI.0 -

You bought the coke, then complained on here afterwards about the price. If you dont like the price, dont buy it. Simples.
And if you've concluded its a 'rip off', what similar activity have you been to in the city centre that costs significantly less?
Its about context. You havent given us any context on which to base your assertion that its a rip off?0 -

I would tend to agree with the OP but I would also tend to suggest that the cinema and such likes are the same. To be honest, I just don't bother going. It does perplex me how many people will hand over money without ever thinking about value, especially at this time when money is short in the economy. Taking in the bigger picture, as a business person, if people are foolish enough to pay £5 for a tub of nasty popcorn, then best do your best to get the money from their pockets because, if you don't, they will throw it away at someone else!Always overestimating...0

Then maybe the pricing of other major attractions worldwide is also a rip-off.:)
So its not a Northern Ireland rip off then?
And also these attractions like the Giants Causeway and the Titanic Exhibition are promoted and designed around getting tourists to spend money in Northern Ireland, not about entertaining the locals with a cheap afternoon out - there are loads of things to do in NI if you want that.
I do find it amusing that 30 years ago Northern Ireland was a !!!! hole that noone wanted to visit, but now when we're getting our act together with promoting World Class attractions, then we complain about the price of it.0 -

You have to view it as a cost for say, a good night out. Even at £5.00 a game for three games, a drink and a bag of nachos or something its probably going to come to £20. Thats not bad in the grand scheme of things - go to a night club and you could blow £100 easily.
Personally, i'm probably happier having a night in with a good movie in our home, BUT if i do want to go to the Cinema i'd go on a Tuesday night to our local for £3 (Banbridge).
Yes, some of these events / activities are expensive, but if you want to do them, you need to find MSE ways to do so, OR find another cheaper activity.
That doesnt mean however that a game of bowling at £4.25 is a RIP OFF or day out at the Giants Causeway at £10 is a RIP OFF. It is what it is.
Last time we went to the Giants Causeway we walked from Port Ballintrae round then down round the Causeway. Great day out and very refreshing - and cost us peanuts. :money:0
