You're paying for the fact you're visiting the causeway and for it to be maintained. I suspect they dont charge you an entrance fee per se as then they may have some legal responsibility if you were to fall off a cliff or something.

I'd say pricing is probably on a par with, if not cheaper than, other major attractions worldwide.

Come on.......£8.50 per person to go to the toliet and look at pityful attempt at exhibits -now that is a rip-off!!!.
They should have two seperate prices one for parking only -say £5 per car, and another for car+visitor centre. A tloiet block should be available outside.

Not everyone wants to see vistors centre. But if you have kids who want to buy something from the shop, or if you want to grab a quick coffee you have to cough up £8.50 for the pleasure....................

Yes a toilet block should definitely be available outside - used to be last time i was there.
  • Is the Giant's Causeway now privately owned? why do we pay for entrance to a natural feature? and if the grass and weeds need to strimmed every once in a while, why is that cost not covered in general taxation?

If it bothers you, why not ring up and ask?
  • Excuse me for having an opinion and there are definitely ways to give users of the complex free parking and it's just my opinion so there is no need to gang up on me.

I know, sometimes people on here are very rude. They seem to get pleasure from jumping in just to put others down without offering anything constructive themselves.:(

I agree. But the cost would make sure you never go back even if you enjoyed it the first time.

If you have passengers jus drop them off before your drive into the car park - and then you only pay the £8.50 once!

A "rip off" is something being overcharged relative to what others are charging.

I have no issues paying £2 for a coke in a restaurant, cafe, or entertainment facility, as thats pretty much the going rate, relative to the outgoings and overheads they have. Plus no-one is forcing you to buy it.

From what i can see what you paid was fairly typical pricing for what you were doing. £8.50 for a couple of games and £2.00 for a drink - sounds broadly similar to what you'd pay in a Belfast cinema to watch a movie?

So no, i dont think its a "rip off", and sorry if asking you how you have come to that conclusion has got you upset.
