All down to location and convenience, and how much they want to attract new business.

True, it's not a major gripe of mine but I wouldn't like to have to pay for parking on a daily basis.

Its not a rip off per se though. They're offering a service - (somewhere to park your car) - and charging for that service. Prices vary dependant on location and convenience within the city which are probably broadly in line with costs.

Also parking charges in all cities are broadly similar, so its not really a "NI Rip Off"

The biggest rip offs are the ones you have to pay. The arrangement fee to get a loan, connection charges for monopoly service providers etc. But here is one that really gets under my skin. PLANNING FEES!!! Or should I call them Development Tax?

£840 for a full application for a house, and how can any application cost £262,395.00 to process?

  • The rip off that really gets my goat is having to pay £1 to pick up or drop off at the international airport. Given there is no choice, this truly is a rip off! Also, at times, people take their lives in their hands as due to absence of spaces, cars are double parked. Why can't there be 10 mins grace as most uk airports and the city airport have? To compound it, if you pay by card, you get hit with a handling fee!

  • Oh oh and the other big one exclusive to NI. If you want to avail of the discount by paying your rates bill in full, the handling charge exceeds government guidelines and all Land & Property Services say is that it's a third party fee. Maybe change the third party?

  • You can drop people off at the Long Term Car Park for free. There is a 10 minute grace period there according to the Belfast International Airport website. It is only marginally further to walk than the drop off/short term area.

Alas some people think users are cheapskates by doing so. I do not share that view though I invariably pay the pound. Yes the £1 drop off fee is a scandal.

I have also avoided £1 by walking out to the main road to be collected!

Sounds pretty reasonable as the main costs in catering and food service are rent, utilities and staffing.

I just buy an entire loaf now which contains at least 10 slices for £1.

And have to eat it outside or at your desk.
