First day on my own with a toddler and newborn

eek!

I have a 2.8 year old and a 3 and a half week old (colicky) baby, and today is my first day completely alone with them due to a combination of paternity leave/my mother staying for a few days/son being in childcare 3 days a week.

If I get through today I will be very pleased with myself! :D

You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

The health visitor advised my Mum (living in an upstairs flat, no access to garden and two little ones under 18 months) to get them in the pram and get out of the house if things got too much - the crying doesn't sound half as bad out in the open!
  • well we survived the park! I agree that getting out is the best thing, I remember forcing myself out when DS was a baby, even on days when I'd had zero sleep and felt like the walking dead!

Now DS is tucked up for afternoon nap and baby is waking for her feed..I swear they work as a tag team!

Just go with the flow MV, there are no prizes in this world for running yourself ragged trying to be supermum.

  • thanks guys.

baby is pretty colicky and her 'witching hour' begins about 6pm and goes on for hours..it's been pretty gruelling. we just don't seem to be able to get her wind up :(

i think this is definitely our last baby!
