Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I won, I won, I won!
We went last night too, ours lasted about an hour and 20 mins.
There was a choice of red, white or rose wine and soft drinks to start, then the presentation followed by the savoury food which was similar to everyone else's choice.
They encouraged us to go back for another drink then did the talk about the sweet items before the tasting. We had all the chocolate as well as truffles, carrot, coffee and strawberry cakes and some products from the christmas range including mince pies and stollen.

We both had goody bags with wild mushrooms, linguine, blue wensleydale cheese and a bar of chocolate(different variety in each). All in all an enjoyable evening and lots of items I'd buy.

Hubby commented while we were there that most of the people were older and we're in our forties!
  • Oh Yes, and 6 people didn't turn up although one did phone to say they were ill.

    How do you know that?!
  • How do you know that?!

Because they kept saying we'll get started soon, we're just waiting for 5 or 6 people to turn up and there were 6 empty chairs. In the end nobody else turned up and we mentioned to the bloke doing the presentation at the end that it was a shame and he said yes as others could have taken the places, but that one person phoned to say they were ill and couldn't attend:)

I went last night to the one near my house, and we also received the linguine, mushrooms, blue cheese and chocolate. They did not check us on the list, we just walked in... and there was about 15 people there.

26 people were at mine last night - even the lady in charge commented that they would need to make more goodie bags as more people had turned up than were actually invited! They didn't bother to check names though. Plenty of food to sample, even with the amount of tasters! Got mushrooms, pasta, blue cheese and plain chocolate in a lovely "limited edition/not for sale anywhere" finest bag.

    DW :D
    Blessed are the vegetarians.

Went to one last night :) around 9 people or so didn't turn up so it was a small group of about 12 people. An enjoyable evening and the goody bags were varied a little for people in pairs (e.g. mine had blue cheese and my partner had cheddar).
Hopefully there will be more like it in the future :)

Grrr - can't get on the website today to check for cancellations.

    Back working now
  • I have a blog and I just did a blog post about the evening we had at the Finest Exclusive Evening last week. Some pictures of the goody bag and the food on offer at the evening. Blog address should be in my details if anyone is interested.

    We had a great evening.
  • Just back from a finest evening where there were probably up to 25 people of mixed ages and it lasted about one hour.
I tried both the red and white wines (various soft drinks available too) and had coffee rather than the tea.
    Food was:
3 cheeses - small bitesize pieces on cocktail sticks (I tried 2)
    3 types of pickle (I tried 2)
houmous - 2 types (I tried one, with garlic)
2 types of ham - again small bitesize pieces on cocktail sticks
biscuits for cheese and cheese straws
chocolate - two dark chocolates, already broken into small pieces so I don't know how well it "snapped" and a bowl of each of these were passed round for a piece of each
cake - an afterthought - coffee and walnut or Victoria sponge (and something else which had disappeared by the time I reached the table but don't recall the Red Velvet being mentioned)
    mixed nuts and dried fruit
    Goody bag contained:
    milk chocolate
    goat's cheese
    linguine
    wild mushrooms
    2 recipe cards

Most interesting part was being "behind the scenes" in the staff canteen area.
  • Site says only one food evening per person will be allowed, is this new as some of you seem to have gone to more than one please?
