TSB Enhance

We went in to our local TSB branch today (appointment made last week) and opened 3 in my wife's name and one in mine.
She wouldn't allow us to make one joint account and 3 others in my wife's name as Lloyds have done.
All opened immediately, just waiting to get online passwords etc.
Had nothing from our two earlier online applications so don't know what will happen to them.0 -
What do you recommend the complaint should be about?0

What do you recommend the complaint should be about?
The inconvenience of having to firstly wait so long to find out about a technical error, secondly the expense and inconvenience of visiting a branch and thirdly because not enough people make a fuss and they need feedback as they are a new bank0 -
....they need feedback as they are a new bank
A new bank?
They say they are 200 years old (lol).
And they are staffed by folks who have been working in one of the world's biggest banks for years, plus they have mature systems to match.
But I agree with you, they do need feedback. Lucky that they do read the MSE forum, like all other banks do. Can they use the information to their advantage and benefit, though? Time will tell.0 -

They can dress it up how they want - they are out there trying to win business and have rebranded - and claim they want to be the Best Bank in the UK - so they need to get their procedures on point and up to scratch0 -
I'm still struggling to open mine.
Applied online, got the "Technical error" letter, phoned up and they said my account is impossible and they can't open an current account, only a savings account.
When they split, the current accounts moved to Lloyds and a savings accounts with 26p in it moved to TSB. I can't open a new current account as I'm "already in the system" and have online banking details already. I can't open a secondary current account as I don't have a first. It's not possible to have online banking with just a savings account, you must have a current account to get online banking.
So, their solution was to close the savings account by sending me a cheque for the 26p. Once that has debited the account they can formally close it and then cancel my banking relationship with them. Once thats gone through I can then open a new current account and request online banking access which "should" work.
You call that a "Mature system" ?0 -
Well the two ENHANCE accounts are up and running....I had duplicate "Welcome" blurb through the post as well as two cheque books ....which I definately indicated on the web application that I didn't require.
The interest went in today and flushed 1000 through them both.
So no visits to the branch, no signatures or requests for ID...I think I have got off lightly after reading some of the posts here!.0 -
Well, since I applied online, received a confirmation letter 10 days later including a sort code/account number and asking me to present my id in a branch, which I did the next day. The nice fella in the branch couldn't find my account on his system, so called the online account people who said that was to be expected until they had received my validated ID from him. So he sent it. Three days later, still no sign of the account on his system. So he sent my id again. Two days later, still no sign, so he faxed it to them. I'm still in limbo right now. I asked in another branch and they said it takes the online people five working days to do anything with the ID after they have received it.
Folks being told to start from scratch in a branch should consider themselves lucky!!

Why don't you do that anyway? A Branch can open your account(s), and online access, there and then.
If you ever get the account you tried to open online, that's just a bonus then. Or you could just not use it if you are the "one account for me only" type of person.0
