Wedding card box?!!!

Hi,

I need something that can hold 50+ cards for my reception. There's going to be someone there that I don't trust at all and I need something secure that can hold onto the cards. Something lockable and doesn't cost a lot.

I've looked at ballot boxes and post boxes but they're either too much or ugly as hell lol.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You're having someone at your wedding who you don't trust? And why do you need to keep cards safe? Has this untrustworthy person got a greetings card fetish? This whole thing's bizarre.

  • Why will this person even be there?!

Fluff, I imagine that the person has light fingers and the cards may just contain some cash => lock them away.

    Why is this person invited?!

Presumably because the cards may have money in.

Aah, yes of course. I forgot that you open your gifts after the reception :D

So that's one question answered... what about the other one? ;)

I'm still intrigued as to how this is going to work... Are you going to ask the guests to post their cards into this lockable box? Do people know there's a light-fingered greetings card fetishist there? If not, then won't it look a bit, well, weird? How will you keep the presents safe? Obviously it's a bit difficult to walk out of a reception carrying a washing machine or something, but not every gift is going to be enormous. The greetings card fetishist might be able to squirrel a few packages about his/her person too. Perhaps you need a cage?

  • Why not give them a different invitation, one which has a typo with the date? Get them there the day after. What a shame the invitations weren't proofread....

Its not all that simple not to invite people. My step dad didn't even know he wasnt invited to my sisters wedding as my Mum just invited him and expected us to put up with it.

I dont want him at my wedding either but end day as my mum says its 'her partner' and we have to accept that -___-

(Sounds rather childish but he really is a piece of work)
People don't know what they want until you show them.
  • When we goot married I got one of the rectangular cardboard post boxes from ebay (just got a plain cream one and decorated it myself.

I did this so that everything would be kept together, but if I had someone going who I didnt trust I would get one of these plain cardboard boxes and put it in a place where it will be on show all night and then I would either put double sided tap on the lid and stick it shut and/or I would tie ribbon length ways around the lid and box (so it looked like park of the decoration of the box)- this way if someone tried to steal anything it would take them time to open it and they would be spotted
