I dont want him at my wedding either but end day as my mum says its 'her partner' and we have to accept that -___-
(Sounds rather childish but he really is a piece of work)
I agree, it's your day so you should have to put up with it but, it's also your life and it is something you will have to put up with. So it's very difficult and annoying but, that's life.0 -
Sadly I have this problem also with two of the people who will probably be there on the evening, I'm just hoping they don't show up. If they do the card box will be moved upstairs to the hotel room at 8.30 and most of the family will be watching them like hawks until then0

We have hired one of these and it comes with a key. Only £50 and they drop it off in the morning and pick it up the next day.Married 30/08/14 :heartpuls0

Just give all cards you/other half receive to a trusted 3rd party (or grooms pocket). Don't have a presents table, all gifts to you. to be passed to 3rd party and put somewhere safe.0

Cover the lock? Not bloody likely! Get a whopping great padlock and chain, in full view, and gleefully tell anyone who asks why it is there.0 -
I went to a wedding not so ;ong ago where the mother in law opened all the cards on top table in full view of everyone and you could clearly see her look of delight or disproval at the amount given, i was sitting thinking ohhhhhhhhh lol:A :j0

It's a shame you have to resort to such measures, but the box in your link could easily be painted and decorated to match your wedding theme.
You could also have all your details painted onto the box and use it afterwards to keep all your wedding day cards and mementos in.

Sorry if this has been suggested but what about a birdcage? Cards can be 'posted' through the gaps. Also, make sure that it's in a VERY visible place.
Or just get everyone to give their cards to the best man, that's pretty commonplace.
Good luck.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
