    Nothing is Impossible :) it will just take us all alot of work, but we can all meet our targets. To raise the extra money you will be needing to meet your target looking into the following;

    Ebay
    Amazon
    Car Boots
Extra hours at work / evening job
    Spread Betting

I'm so keen to join this challenge but have no idea how I could improve my income really! What exactly is matched and spread betting???

Also, I work in IT and so generally speaking have evenings free. How many would I have to work to earn an extra few hundred quid a month? Worth looking into if it means I can clear debt! Doubt husband will agree but we'll see....!

Great challenge by the way. Wishing you all the best of luck indeed! :rotfl:

    Thanks all, NTL

    Hi NTL

There is a thread on here that explains matched betting. I think it looks quite complicated but if you get the hang of it they say you can't lose!

I do on average two evening shifts a week and that gets me about £300 extra a month. It's also great that one job pays monthly and the par time pays weekly so I can constantly hammer at my debt even if sometimes it's just £50 a week. After a while it really starts to make a difference.

    Worth looking in to.

I have friends who do bar work a couple of evenings a week. It's not lucrative, but if you'd happily spend an evening in a pub, then it can only be good to get paid for it :rotfl:
But better earnings have been achieved by friends waitressing, because of the tips. It's Hard Work and anti-social hours, which is why there are tips - my friends say some people feel grateful that there are people prepared to work serving them "after work" and so it's guilt money.
  • Hi All

Just added up everything for this month and so I have paid off £636.41, this is way below what I would like, must focus more or I will never catch up.

Next month I'm going to start up matched betting did a few tail end of last football season. I think the new season starts on the 11th August can't wait I'm to frightened to bet on any other sport (some have odd rules) although I know it's possible.

and this weekend if the rain continues will dig through the clutter in the garage and see if there is anything to list on ebay etc.

NTL you asked about matched betting there is a whole section called gambling introductory offers. There are great threads on there that show you how to get started. It is complicated but someone once said read the instructions until your eyes bleed to make sure you understand the concept, this is really good advice.

    Good luck everyone

    Hi everyone

it's that time of the month again!

Just got paid so I pais another £350 on my CC and another £278.92 on my loan. My total debt is now at 4042.44. I'd like to get rid of that 42.44 before I get my August pay. I can't use the money from me second job as I have to save it up to pay the loan as that goes out two days before i get paid in August. It does mean I can make quite abig CC payment with my August wages though!

So I still have 5 pay days left this year and to clear my debt I need to pay off an average of £808.50 per month.

My aim for 1 September is to have a debt of £3100.

I'll let you all know how I get on and well done everyone it sounds like you're all doing really well

Good luck & i will be keeping an eye on this thread. We are currently paying £650 a month towards our debts, but any overtime we do we split half of that into paying our debts off & have half to ourselves. This way we can buy small things that we want & have the occasional treat, whilst still paying more than £650 off our debts every month. Already reduced our DFD from August 2012 to May 2012. Got 2 holidays to go on this year,(yes i know i need a slap on the wrist :D ) so might not be able to reduce the DFD by much more this year, but we will definately be steaming into our debts next year & hope to keep reducing the time it takes to clear them until the day when we will be :j & finally have no debts. Good luck.
