I'll be cheering you on to success but can't even contemplate such a massive achievement in that space of time. Make it a 2 year challenge and I might stand a chance:rotfl:

    Go for it.

I cleared that amount (almost to the £) last year. I started at the beginning of July and finished at the end of November.

It was very very VERY hard work including taking on a second job which meant working 7 days a week.

I have to confess to half it being cleared by some bank charges being refunded in November otherwise I think it would have taken me about a year.

Have a look at every single aspect of your financial situation. It was a daily 'job' for me checking every penny in and out.

It's hard work but if you are determined you could give it a really good go.

Congratulations on getting your bank charges too, it must have been a great help. I haven't any charges to claim back so raising over £6000 by other means(legal ones anyway:rotfl:) in such a short time would be totally impossible for me.

    Hey AJolly, I'll join you.

First reaction was 'I could never do it' but if I don't challenge myself I'll never be rid of these debts.

I'm due a big cheque this month and was already planning to pay an extra £1,000 off my CC so that gives me a nice headstart. And as my loan and minimum payments come to around £700 each month, I only need to find an extra £350ish.

My challenge, then, is to get from today's total of 41,271.57 to under £35k by Christmas.

How can we best spur each other on to meet this? Weekly update on this thread? Something in our signatures?

Best of luck and look forward to celebrating together at Christmas

I'll join up. Not sure how i'm going to do it yet especially as I start maternity leave at the end of this month.
I'll go for knocking £1000 off my total debt. That make it £74,765 to £73,765.
Should prob post something on the last day of the month or on a payday or something to spur each other on.
    Good luck All. Laura :)
