Hi everyone thanks for the support and the guys joining me :-)
I know its a big challenge but there is something else which is making me do this. Not just the fact that i want to be debt free, but my ex girlfriend who i love very very (we split up because of my debt last year, were still friends) much has agree'd we can get back together if i clear this amount of debt by Christmas and only have the one loan left to pay (that will be my next challenge start of next year)
To help me achieve this i have taken on a second job working evenings and weekends at a new bar in Cambridge around my full-time employment. Aslong as i stick to me spread sheet, i can and will do this and still have about £20 a week to socialise with.
You can keep track of how i'm doing in my signature, just need to update it as its out of date now.
Again thanks for the support, and good luck to the others who are going to join me. Lets do this :-)Total Debts - £11,205.92

            AJolly,
Just wanted to wish you well with this challenge and also wish you happiness with your girlfriend, I am sure that what she has said will help you keep on the straight and narrow money wise.

AJolly - best of luck with your debt clearance getting your girlfriend back.
My target isn't quite as big but not far off it.
I have approx 700 on Nationwide cc and £5800 on virgin credit card.
And here's something for everyone with credit cards - my virgin rate is 2.9% introductory for several months - it expires in July. The standard rate is a scary 24.9%.
I phoned them and asked them to extend the intro rate. The bloke on the other end of the phone said that they couldn't extend the intro rate for existing balances but he would reduce my standard rate to 13.9%!!!
So he took 11% off without any sort of pleading/begging/imploring.
It's worth trying with your credit cards and see what they say - the worst they can say is no so all you've got lose is the cost of the phone call.

Hi. I'd love to join in too. My current debt is aboit 11 500 so I'd love to get it down to the 5000's by Christmas. We get paid early in December so I've got 7 paydays to do it in meaning I need to find approx 900 each payday! Wow that's scarey!!
Have got about 1000 pounds worth of overtime booked for later in the year so that should help too!
(Sorry pound sign not working!)
Good luck everyone!

I've just cleared £250 off my barclaycard. I'm well on the way to the £1000 mark. Better get the car boot stuff out.
