Think of it this way. If you can raise such large amounts of cash to pay off the ravenous beasts of debt, you should be able to do the same when debt free, and enjoy the profit from it.

I'm joining in this challenge too, if I may.

Some of you will know that I had a personal challenge to pay £10000 off my debts during 2007 and I am almost at £9000 so getting there nicely. However, these last couple of months have not seen so much improvement so a challenge is required.

I would like to pay a further £7000 off my debt. This will take me down to approx £35000 outstanding, and will be over £15,000 improvement in a year which I would be very happy with.

    Good luck everyone!

The wonderful olympic challenge worked wonders for me - introducing me to matched betting, ebay and amazon, more mystery shopping stuff etc etc.

also cancelled the cleaner and the gym, and had an inheritance payment this year from my Dad's estate of £1000 that went off the debt.

But one reason is that my minimum repayments on my debt are £1350 a month, so as long as we stick to that, and don't use the cards, we reduce the capital amount by almost £1000 a month anyway. It is tight, and to do it we rent out our spare room, have endless "extra" jobs and eat pasta an awful lot! It can be done, just need to be focussed.

    Hello all,

Well, I have started my 6 month challenge to clear a lot of my debt… (thanks ).

I have decided to up my personal challenge from £2000.00 to £3,500.00.

This would wipe out nearly all of my debt!

It’s over £500.00 per month to save, but I should be able to cope.

I’ll sell on ebay (virgin), amazon (virgin) and try doing a few car boot sales (yup, virgin here too!)

If it doesn’t look like I’m doing well, I’ll try doing some extra hours at work and maybe get an evening job.

    Let’s do it!!!
  • Afternoon everyone

    I don't believe it I've just sold a book for £10 on amazon the book only cost a £1 at a carboot :j :j :j

Welcome to those that have joined recently.
