I can find the charities! Orbis for example, but I don't know how to text them money as I have not done so before.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0

I can't post links at the most as am on a tablet, but if you Google "just giving" you will find charities who accept text donations. Either direct to a charity or via someone who is raising money for a particular cause so you should find a sight related one. There will be a number for you to text to giving whatever amount you choose. Sometimes you don't pay your normal text charge & sometimes you do so just check this & allow for. It's really simple & it feels good to let someone benefit. When you have donated you might get a reply that asks you to give your details so they can also reclaim tax but this is not compulsory.0

Sorted now thanks.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0

If you have only used £3 in 6m on PAYG, then why have so much credit (£20+?)on the phone in the first place? The minimum top up is £10.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Well it's really none of your business, but if you must know the reasons then it was because I was travelling overseas off the beaten track in 2012 & needed to make sure that in an emergency I would have enough credit to get help, as credit soon gets eaten up overseas. Fortunately an emergency did not arise either to me whilst I was travelling nor back home to my elderly mother which might have involved some hastily arranged flight & hotel bookings to get me home. I topped up with £20 in 2012 on the basis that it was not going to "expire" it was still mostly there for my 2013 trip. Once again I did not have an emergency! Has ASDA not moved the goalposts it would still have been here for 2014.
Is that acceptable to you or shall I bring a note from home to justify my personal actions?
Solarjunkie - glad you got sorted.0 -
It looks like ASDA Mobile are sending texts to customers, advising them that their SIM won't work after 30 April and to transfer their service and number before then. Fair enough.
Unfortunately, they're sending them to customers, like me, who are already using the new EE SIM and service, and have transferred their number. :doh:If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

The shambolic admin by ASDA (with whom I had been a happy customer for several years) concerning this move is why I finally decided to jump ship to 3 after ASDA proved unable to reply to simple queries without evasive & conflicting answers. Am now a satisfied 3 customer & my initial £10 top up from 6 weeks ago with 3 is proving difficult to use, despite a family emergency earlier this month which meant more than my usual activity on my mobile. Nearly £8 still left, but I shall be putting £20 on before my next overseas tour just in case! If no-one objects of course!! LOL!0

I did look into 3, but found the web site, top ups just did not work for me, web site just failing, or hanging up
So hello Sainsbury's , working so far, and Nectar points, which I do not use or collect so not a big plus there for me, but a mobile that just works is fine, no interest in data etc, another £5 a year spender or emergency hereEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
