Thanks zags, I'll have a look, although Dropbox does give 5gb, I wanted a bit more. I have been doing a lot of cleaning up and organising my computer photos so I'm probably ready to sort my Ipad/iphone photos out to free up some Dropbox space. It may just be enough for syncing.

I thought Dropbox only gives you 2GB for free but maybe I'm out of date.

This website here has about 100 dropbox alternatives for you to think about.

With this link, you will get 20GB free for life of cloud storage with copy.com (which is part of Barracuda - the security & data security experts), and a big advantage with this company is that they have free a free iPhone/iPad app (from the apple appstore) for accessing your data on the move, also a free Android app.
It syncs automatically, and the data is encrypted, so it remains safe.
I've found it much faster than BT Cloud!

On the face of it this has currently got to be the best deal going. Just found this positive review:

I am currently using IDrive for back-ups but I will definitely give this a try.

I was going to post a reply like Pauls above - but referral links are supposedly against the terms here.

You get 15gb as std and a further 5gb when you have installed and logged into the program (which can then be uninstalled).

I have about 50gb+ but not enough to put on it lol

Yes, this is a positive review but I'm wondering about the practicality of Copy.com. The user reviews a bit further down the page are quite negative. Main concerns are the slow download speeds. 2 days to download 5 videos. Still, it might be worth trying it out.

Mega allow up to 50gb per account (I have 3!) and is lightning fast and works well, there are obvious security concerns so I encrypt any sensitive stuff before upload.

Yes it's fast and loads of storage space, but for me, personally it's a question of integrity & security. Do I trust my grandkids photos/videos to Kim Dotcom? Err, NO.
    But it's a personal decision.
For me, I prefer the corporate 'clean & respected' identity of Barracuda (copy.com).

Katykat - this is a new development from Barracuda, and there were initial niggles (as always with new IT products) which now appear to have been sorted. For example, it does and always did automatic backups, and although it's not as fast as Kim Dotcom, I've found it much faster than BT Cloud & Dropbox. Try it yourself for free and see, especially whilst the introductory offer is still on.

Dave, No the introductory offer has not finished yet.
    But, as Mttlad lad has said;
'You get 15gb as std and a further 5gb when you have installed and logged into the program...).'
Presumably, you haven't installed either the desktop or iphone/android app yet??

...and to be clear, the introductory offer is the free 15GB, and the additional 5GB is a bonus when you first log into any of the free apps.
