    It would depend on timescales involved. In custardy's scenario if he need the money immediately, then a PDL would be the way to go. If they had a few weeks to wait, then a credit card would be better.

    Obviously being prepared and having a credit card on standby would be ideal, however things can creep up unexpectedly.

    That's what I thought too.. particularly when you consider they lent £1.2bn in 2012 (according to BBC)
