Well - maybe you should if you can't wait until payday for something that is non-essential! :rotfl:

    Thanks mother

    You're welcome, son. :D

Although any offspring of mine would have far more financial acumen than to take out a payday loan for non-essential expenditure because he/she is too impatient to wait for payday.

But you obviously are happy with the way you manage your money so I'll leave you to your vent.

I didn't consider my comment rude.

I thought it was pretty good advice for someone who applies for a loan for 'non-essential expenditure' as he is too 'impatient waiting for payday'.

That's the start of a slippery slope.

And yes - maybe not everyone is financially prudent but there's been enough coverage in the media about these companies that anyone who doesn't really, really need to take one out should have more sense.

From the main MSE website (the bolding and red type is mine):

Maybe the OP would learn something if he read a few of the threads on the Debt-free wannabe as well as what Martin says about payday loans.

I'm sure you'll consider these comments rude too - but they aren't.
    They're realistic.

    You come across very arrogant

Quite funny comment as I am not seeking money advice.

Only been on MSE for a few days and didn't take long before somebody has stuck their big boot in!

Perhaps you should read it that someone has taken the time and trouble to inform you of the dangers and perils of payday loans. I'm sure the majority of people who have come unstuck with them considered they were being prudent beforehand.

To be fair to the OP they said they used a code to offset any interest payment from the PDL, so not an issue really.

They said most of the charges. They still would have had to pay some interest. I assume they have a bad credit rating as really they need a credit card for things like this.

I suspect the hit on your credit rating will come when other lenders see a search from wonga, whether the application was succesful or not.

Meteor - i think you have mistakenly posted on moneySAVINGexpert (mse). You wanted our nemesis site - mWe.

Lot of good info over there about Wonga's excellent 4000% APR

By the way - also a lot of praise for Apple over there too! (sorry ; I'm weak - I couldn't resist)
