I have read the thread, including your link (which does mention that sometimes some people thieve and assault to satisfy their fetish) , and I still think it should be logged with the police.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Some people thieve and assault just for the fun of it, it doesnt mean they are a pedophile though.
And if they do cross the line and commit a criminal offence then of course you report it.
  • OH thinks I'm over reacting but hate the thought that this could be someone dangerous and I've not done as much as I could to stop them.

It is very creepy but why would this make them possibly dangerous ?

I agree it was badly worded and not well thought out at all and have to wonder what on earth they were thinking in asking at all.
And no i do realise not everyone has said this , but pedophiles are a cause close to my heart and i would rather see the authoritys not bothered by peoples misinterpretation of what a pedo is as agaisnt a mere perv so they are left to concentrate on the real criminals and protect the kids.
What word would you use to describe an adult who gains sexual gratification from the smell of small children's feet?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Your right i dont have a problem with people who have a fetish.
I dont like the the thought of someone after a kids shoes i have to say its decidedly foul, but i dont think its a pedophile merely a person with a gross fetish. That was all i was trying to say.
For me if someone is convicted of pedophilia or is confirmed as a pedophile[professionally diagnosed], then they should bring back the death penalty. Pedophiles have a very high rate of recidivism and cannot be cured, merely controlled.
All i want is for people to make an informed and reasoned opinion instead of just hearing the word "child" and going hysterical.
hence the link i posted earlier about the paediatrician.
All done by good well meaning people who heard the word "paed" and jumped on it hysterically thinking a child was being hurt when in fact the children were being healed.

Like many criminals, they start on the road, and then get to a point where they are a full blown criminal committing crimes, escalation isn't it called (or do I watch too many US crime shows lol!)

My reasoned and informed opinion is that this could be a step on the road for someone becoming a !!!!!phile and that it is worth reporting to the Police.

And what harm is there in reporting it and letting the authorities decide if there is anything untoward going on?

People dont gravitate to being a pedophile in the same way say a shop lifter gravitates to being a bank robber, they either are or are not.
Pedophiles are attracted to children, its not a habit that can be broken, controled or cured it just is [no one knows why this happens exactly , some do espouse the theory its just how they were born]

I think the point is that a !!!!!phile can be dormant, getting their kicks from online, shoes etc, and then they step it up to rl. It is always in them, they just act on it or not up to a point.

Theres no immediate harm persay but think if everyone started reporting every little thing no matter how irrelervent then eventually the system gets bogged down leaving less time for going after the real criminals,
I supposed you could liken it to the story of the boy that cried wolf.
The real report may slip through the cracks get overlooked because the system is so bogged down with irrelervant data.
