This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all!
It's looking like another nice day here in Glasgow. I won't be out in it much as I need to stay in for the builders who're repairing the front wall and may need electricity. What I really want to be doing is cleaning my mother's greenhouse to let in as much autumn/winter light as possible but that will have to wait until another sunny day.
I've baked AGCJ's Easy Peasy Soda Bread a couple of times this week and it's so easy and delicious to boot!
A gardening book I was recommended by another OSer arrived yesterday so I'm thinking I'll have a quiet day browsing through that and daydreaming about raised beds ...
Have a good day everyoneHousehold: Laura + William-cat

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Misty but sun already trying to break through, but a definite nip in the air here this morning. Washing going on to the line in a mo.
DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, sausage etc, as I got the meat out to defrost and left it out on the side all night - as it was so warm thought it might have gone off - so binned it - not very OS I know but I'd rather do that than give everyone food poisoning!
Work was ok yesterday but pleased to be finished until Monday - hopefully now we're going to be returning to a bit more routine etc and the choas will be less stressful!
Had a bit of a meltdown this morning with DS2 - I asked him yesterday afternoon when I got home from work to gather together all his stuff for school, get his bag ready etc, so that we had no probs this morning - told him to hang his uniform on the front of his wardrobe etc - he told me he had everything and it was all fine. He goes to get ready for school this morning and starts yelling, "who's moved my trousers, where are they, someone's taken them?", I go up to his room and find no trace of any trousers and then when I question him he admits he didn't have any trousers yesterday and so just told me that he'd got everything sorted! I'd said that we could go out yesterday afternoon and organise anything that he hadn't got and the SM is not that far from where we live. So I find myself first day of school 6.30am and he's got no trousers - to say I wasn't impressed is an understatement. I had a thorough look and couldn't find any either, I had got rid of a couple of pairs but had passed some of his big bros down to him and put them in the bottom of DS2's wardrobe - I don't know what he has done with them but they are nowhere to be found! Fortunately I was able to find 1 x pair that were DS1's they are a bit big but will do for today! I'm hoping I can actually get some as very often by the time the schools go back most places don't have any left! Have calmed down a bit now and he's completely ready to leave at 8am.
Will be going shortly to the SM as we're going away in the morning and want to be away at a reasonable time - so today will be taken up with the jobs I normally do on a Friday except the food shopping. I will also be doing the ironing etc (but as I've been keeping on top of it there's not that much) packing and hopefully will get time to do some baking/cooking.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Rosy - Lyla is just beautiful!
Hugs to everyone, can't quite remember what I read last night! Work was very busy and we are still one member of the team down - unfortunately her son hasn't been found yet. Some more cctv footage is emerging but it must be awful for them.
Off to school in a while, so busy there too! DD is off today so she can get the house ready for the viewers tonight (this is their 2nd visit).Still haven't had the elusive offer from the other folk.
Washing on the line, hoping the weather stays fine. Take care. XX0 -

Hi all,
Off to work again soon. Busy day again today, then off out for tea with the other managers. Shouldn't be a late one I hope!
Looking forward to the weekend. Need to go over to Whitley Bay on Saturday to sign our next rental contract for our house. Landlord hasn't put the rent up or anything so we are more than happy to stay! Then it's off to Costco, then home :-)
Made bubble & squeak for tea last night and had sausages with it. It was lovely! Need to freeze the b&s leftovers for another day :-)
Suppose I should get ready to go! Have a good day all!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -

Well the washing up was still here when I got home, AND had been added to. Miss tru finally did it at 5.30pm.
The sky at the front of the house is blue and the sun is shining, the sky at the back is pink! Looks like it's going to be another warm day. Hopefully the washing will dry quickly. I'll do a quick tidy up, bring the washing in then sit outside with a Christmas crafts magazine I picked up yesterday.Bulletproof0 -
Morning all,
ttftm really sorry to hear your work news, that's rubbish. Hope things work out for you.
rosy Lyla is gorgeous and I love her name:D every time I hear a pretty name I send it to my DIL in Australia:D
Hubby went off very early this morning but I'm not complaining, we need the money.
At this time of year I'm normally seriously into Christmas prep but with my brothers visit tomorrow I can't concentrate. It will have to wait until he has gone home.
Nice tea last night and catch up with my brother, they have just got a new car so he was very pleased with himself.
Today's plans include some food shopping and cleaning our old banger I think only the dust is holding it together:eek:
Tea tonight something easy possibly curry so dh and ds3 can warm it when they come in from football.
Bit overcast here but no washing to do so I don't mind.
I'm another one who loves Autumn. I love the cooler weather and the lovely trees and the build up to the festive season.
Anyway enough waffle, have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Good Morning all
I've not posted on this daily thread before, I can't think why I've never noticed it!
So another beautiful day in Kent, methinks it may become a little too hot! Still we need to make the most of it as the rain isn't far away.
Notjustlaura: I made the Soda bread yesterday too and was surprised at just how easy and tasty it was. I can see me doing it on a daily basis.
Well today I have the dentist, just for a check up. It's a new man so I shall see what he is like. My old dentist was so lovely but has left the practice so I'm a bit wary.
My youngest DS started 6th form yesterday and it still seems incomprehensible he is that old. Where have my babies gone?
Have a good day all x0
